I am at the hotel now and thought I should write this to help anyone considering this place avoid it. Older buildings in desperate need of refurb, definitely not 5*. I am in adults only building 2 and the noise is horrendous at night from the entertainment area. The trolleys used by staff which go by all the time are ridiculously loud too and they do not care if it's late at night or early morning. If you need to be up early for a trip you have no chance of getting to sleep early the night before. Mini bar not topped up, ate the banana chips and they have not been replaced. Mini bar fridge does not really cool drinks well because it's not a fridge it's a cooler. Food in restaurants is not gourmet st all The Palms buffet serveds cold to Luke warm food all the time. The gourmet corner has never had any beef patties since I have been asking over last 3 days. Salt and pepper, teaspoons are none existent. Very let down as I thought it was supposed to be 5* gourmet but it's more 4* in need of refurbishment serving cold low quality food. Don't bother with any information you are given about what's open when. You will find it useless as it seems the hotel does what it feels like. No atm at this hotel

Nice hotel but don't expect 5 star

Hotel was very nice but it's definitely not up to the standard of other Sensatori's or Karisma hotels we've stayed in and if you're after 5 star luxury then this isn't it. It's a very small hotel which is fine but I think if you were there for 2 weeks you'd be bored as there's nothing much to do within the hotel and the trips on offer by TUI are completely overpriced and a total rip off. The buffet restaurant is tiny so the choice of food is very limited and they run out of everything all the time. There's no-one monitoring when levels become low so often there were no basics like glasses, butter etc not to mention the actual food. We only saw 1 teaspoon the whole time we were there and as for salt and pepper then forget it. My friend asked for a tea one morning and got a dry teabag on a plate and then after asking again got a mug of hot water (no spoon obviously). We did raise this with the hotel manager who was lovely but the TUI rep wouldn't speak to us. We had cocktails served to us on the beach once which was nice but never saw anyone ever again. The hotel was fine but if you pay for a 5 star Sensatori/Karisma you expect a certain level of service and sadly this wasn't there. There were loads of other small problems like running out of spirits at the bar, rooms not being cleaned, inconsistent service etc but nothing that spoiled our holiday. I certainly wouldn't rush back there again but if you're happy with a lower level of service then this is a nice hotel with friendly staff and we met some lovely people but I've been to much better hotels than this one. One very weird thing....the wardrobe was in the bathroom and you could only access half of it because the sinks were in the way!

This was the first time we had visited Jamaica but it certainly won't be our last & the same can be said for this Hotel & the Wonderful Team. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was five star service all the way. The Hotel is large but it still has a very friendly feel to it & because there are many small areas you don't feel over awed. The private beach is gorgeous, the poolside bars of which I think there are at least 4, the main bar & all of the Restaurants were fantastic. It's difficult explaining just how great the Team are but let's start with Carlos on the personal concierge who was brilliant & constantly checked that everything was perfect for us & was happy to help with anything & everything. On the main bar Athol, Antoinette & Nichola were fantastic at creating a fun atmosphere but also ensuring that personal touch On the 7 mile bar the main man was Obrien & also Sadie was great too & both have a wonderful sense of humour & made anytime a great time At the beach Travel & Vijay were fabulous, nothing too much trouble & the beach was always kept really tidy & soooo clean Poolside Dillion was great & always smiling, a real pleasure. Davian was great too & very polite Jasmine was wonderful in housekeeping & very friendly & made sure we were happy whenever we saw her Chayanne & Patricia at the Coffee shop were great with the drinks & food & again really friendly & welcoming Hyacinth was a Chef at the Restaurant at Mahogany & was always a joy! We enjoyed the most amazing Dinner on the Beach & this was without doubt the highlight of our trip. Absolutely stunning in every way We couldn't recommend this place highly enough, we have already advised our friends to visit & 4 of them have & totally agreed with what we had told them. Thanks for a Wonderful time!

Resort very clean, staff amazing, food & drinks great. Only issues I had was that when we arrived to our room our mini bar was still empty from previous guests, the man who carried our bags up to the room told us he would get it stocked as soon as possible, it never got stocked that day and did not get stocked until room cleaning the following day. Another thing, I was interested in doing laundry but there were no laundry bags or a slip with prices of what everything would cost to clean in the closet where the resort book said it should be. I went to the lobby and had to request one. One final thing, we used the safe in the closet to store some valuables, one day we were trying to lock it and it wouldn't lock. We opened it up and it locked while open. We could not get it unlocked so it would shut, nor could we get the safe code reset because for some reason our code that had previously worked was no longer working. We called down to the concierge, they said someone should be up in about 15minutes. No one ever came, not that day or any of the days following, even after I had mentioned it again to the housekeeper while she was cleaning the room. So we just had to hide our valuables in spots in the room. Overall the resort was great, just some things were missed & getting some things done was difficult.

My husband and I visited Jamaica 33 years ago. He proposed on that trip and we promised each other we would go back one day. It took awhile but we finally went back and so glad we did. We were at a different property in 1986 and it was beautiful, but Azul was absolutely paradise! Perfect beach, wonderful food, lovely room (a swim up room which was fabulous!), spa experience was simply divine! We can't wait to go back!
