Relaxation and Service Galore

sonyascraft (Taft, Tennessee) on Apr 20, 2024

The hubs and I snuck away from it all to celebrate a big anniversary. Jamaica was an easy three-hour flight from Atlanta and the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall was less than a 15-minute ride from the Montego Bay airport. We arranged transport with the resort and enjoyed a rum punch during the quick wait for the car. We had a beautiful oceanfront room with butler service. Highly recommend the splurge! Ask for Dujohn and Nickeisha for exceptional service. The resort is beautiful from every view, and we loved the all-inclusive aspect. Every restaurant was yummy, especially the Choicez buffet, which had impressive selection, and Fuzion, which had great Japanese fare. Enjoy the drink menu by the pool and the Jerk Hut chicken for lunch. Make sure to rent a cabana on the beach at least once!

Business Trip

Not being able to eat anywhere but the buffet while the hotel didn’t seem busy was disappointing. Buffet food was OK but not for the price of the trip.

Good stay overall

Zainab T (Norwalk, Connecticut) on Apr 18, 2024

We had a good stay overall at the Hyatt Ziva. We stayed in the ocean front suite with the butler service. This was the first time we got a butler service so were unsure what to expect but were very pleased overall. The trio team - Jahvai, Jodi and Christopher took care of everything and made our stay stress free. They were always reachable and took care of all the things I dread handling which is appreciated. We ate at most of the restaurants on the ziva side and enjoyed the food. We’ve stayed in other all inclusive resorts but found the food here superior. The reason I didn’t give this resort a five star is for the resort itself. While the staff and food was great, the resort itself is falling apart and needs major upgrades. You can see signs of aging in the rooms and corridors. The entertainment in the evenings was ok as well.

Mixed Experience at Hyatt Ziva Montego Bay - Improvement Needed

chavoneclc on Apr 18, 2024

Our recent stay at Hyatt Ziva in Montego Bay was a rollercoaster of highs and lows, leaving us with mixed feelings about the property. Initially, our vacation started on a shaky note due to a room discrepancy. Although this issue was eventually resolved after some discussions, it set a somewhat unsettling tone for our stay. A more pressing concern was the presence of roaches in our room. Encountering pests in a hotel room is unpleasant and something you wouldn’t expect at a resort of this caliber. Additionally, an incident at the pool where a champagne bottle was accidentally broken raised serious safety concerns. The response to this situation was highly inadequate; the staff's attempt to recover glass fragments using goggles instead of properly vacuuming the pool was both ineffective and unsafe. Despite their efforts, broken glass remained, and unfortunately, a family member was injured as a result. Another disappointing aspect was the dining experience at the specialty restaurants, where the staff struggled with serving meals at the correct temperature and accurately remembering orders. Although the staff was apologetic, their promises to address these issues were not fulfilled, which was frustrating. On the positive side, the general staff members were friendly and helpful, particularly once management was involved. This responsiveness from management shows potential for good customer service but also highlights a need for more consistent staff training and possibly some renovations to enhance the overall guest experience. Lastly, we opted for the butler service, which unfortunately did not meet our expectations. The service provided did not seem to extend beyond what was already included in the all-inclusive package, making it poor value for money. In conclusion, while the Hyatt Ziva Montego Bay has the foundation of a great resort, significant improvements are needed in pest control, staff training, and service execution. I hope that feedback like ours will encourage the necessary changes to elevate the guest experience to the expected standard.
