Magical 1st anniversary trip turns into nightmare customer service

As someone who's wife has worked customer service for over 25 years, let me tell you that we are currently experiencing one of the most egregious instances of terrible customer service I have ever experienced in my life... by Disney. We've been fighting with them for almost 2 weeks now (since the day after we got home from WDW) because they promised us one thing, then have done everything completely backwards to renege and make what was a wonderful and magical vacation and first anniversary and mar it with a black cloud of horrible customer service that includes rude employees, lying and deception and not even an apology for the inconveniences this has caused us at this juncture. We are Disney kids and this deeply saddens us. They obviously have internal communications problems, but that is not something the customer should see at all. You can't promise them one thing, deliver it, and then take it away because your financial departments are squabbling about whose fault it is and who had authorization for what. We will not ever visit a Disney property again.

Stay at any Disney resort it is worth the money. Disney staff is the best of any resort we have ever stayed at. Buy the food plan, you get more food then you can eat so you need to take snacks home when you leave. All the Disney parks are easy to get to and you do not have the hassle of paying for parking or standing in long lines to enter attractions. It may cost more but very much worth it for all the conveniences you receive.

We stayed here for 2 weeks recently on Club Level as it was a big trip for us as we were celebrating some big birthdays!! We had a great view of the pool and Boardwalk from our balcony so I loved sitting out there watching the sun rise!! My 10 year old twin girls loved the pool and spent a lot of time there in between park time!! It's handy to be able to walk to Epcot and get a boat to Hollywood Studios. I also love being able to walk to Boardwalk. I just love this hotel so much.

We have stayed on Disney Property a number of times before but have never stayed in deluxe until now! Wow! We had put in a previous request via my Disney experience to be on a higher floor and have large balcony. We got both of those. The balcony was lovely to sit out on a morning as the sun was coming up. We had a garden view which we’d booked and over looked a lot of trees. We were at the back looking on to part of Epcot. We could see the Figment area. It was quiet which was really nice. The only slight disappointment was we’d been hoping for a fold out sofa so our 2 girls wouldn’t have to share a bed but we didn’t have one. Having said that I hadn’t added a note and we were only a family of 4 so understand why we didn’t. The room is a great size for 4 of us...the tv is huge! And important to us is having lots of USB ports to charge. We didn’t need plugs as we didn’t require anything but having these to charge our devices was very handy. The difference in space from moderate and value is incredible. We did however bring from home a hanging storage thing for the wardrobe area for our clothes. There is a lot of storage but this just helped us. The coffee machine was a great addition to the room; always topped up by mousekeepers. The room was always cleaned to a good standard and replenished with towels, toiletries etc. The location is certainly a big pull to this hotel. We loved being so close to EPCOT. Its one of our favourite park but it was so good to walk in just for food or to pop to a small area. We walked back from Hollywood studios (it was an ok walk in the heat!) one day but most times we got the boats. We loved these. We were there for 18 nights and made good use of the pool. My girls, aged 13 and 10, loved the pool. Again, it’s a big pull for this hotel. It’s huge!! It probably wasn’t until the final days that I found a shortcut from one side of the pool to the other. I felt very confident that my girls were safe in this pool meaning we got some chill out time out of the pool. The market place/shop was well stocked. We always love the shops at the hotels...they have a little of most things. The food area we only used a number of times. Pastries for breakfast and a few times we had the pizza flatbreads which were lovely. The Coca Cola freestyle machines we a little tempremental...don’t treat the screens like your phones!! Be gentle. We used them more for the ice cold water to top up our flask bottles we brought with us. Transport was as we would expect...great. We’ve always had good experiences with Disney transport. Even when it’s been horrendously busy it’s all good! Beach club buses were shared with yacht club and sometimes boardwalk but generally all fine. When one bus was full it was sent long for another. Big highlight at this hotel is the greeting you get from the gentlemen at the door. Always a wonderful ‘welcome home’ or ‘have a wonderful day’. We loved them! But of pin trading or some stickers for the girls but that kind word and greeting was just lovely.

This is my favorite place to stay on all of Walt Disney World property. I have an actual full review of all the amenities in the Disney Resort section of my website. This is the perfect place to enjoy fine dining within a few minutes walk. The Beach Club offers an amazing outdoor recreation area with the Storm A Long Bay pool area. You can also easily walk into Epcot or Hollywood Studios at your own pace. There are additional transportation options available at this resort also.
