The Poly is a must stay, it is an amazing deluxe resort themed with tiki torches, and the culture of the south pacific with easy access to Disney Magic Kingdom and Disney World Theme Parks with mono rail access. The resort has a sprawling layout of 11 longhouses and bungalows, a great pool area, with restaurants and shops in the main lobby area, and a great pool area as well. There are some other perks as well including fast pass reservations and magic bands. There is something magical about the place, I highly recommend getting up early in the morning to enjoy a sunrise, the ambiance is unparalleled, with soft music playing, the boats ferrying across the seven lake lagoon, and the backdrop of the Grand Floridian, it really is worth the stay. Five stars.

    Don't Use Boarding Pass System

The Polynesian is a relaxing and very enjoyable resort, but beware of the boarding pass system. Their issuance of boarding passes is dysfunctional. For a party of 3 we received 2 identical boarding passes and 1 other. We had to get this corrected at the hotel's airline check-in desk. Then at the airport 1 of the boarding passes did not work at all. We had to back out of the TSA line and get the pass re-issued by the airline. The airline representative indicated that Disney hotels have a reputation for this problem. This was a huge waste of time and caused unnecessary stress and made the end of our vacation un-magical.

This was my fourth time staying at the Polynesian Resort, a place that first started my Disney memories all the way back in 1980. I've been at many other Disney resorts since then, but a family reunion was an excuse to visit the Poly again. Having had a great experience at the Disneyland Grand Californian club level a few Christmases ago, we decided to do the same this go around. The Club Level is great when traveling with a group ranging in age from teens to 70s: its lounge is the perfect place to hang out in the mornings and chat about the day over breakfast, or watch the Seven Seas Lagoon and fireworks in the evening over a glass of wine and snacks. The Club and its staff did a great job here: always super-friendly and helpful (shout out to Dennis!). The food and beverage were high quality, and the tables were kept very clean. Even at night after closing, beverages and fruit were always available. One suggestion: although the evening menu changed up every night, there was no variety in the pastries and such in the mornings, which got a bit drab after a week. I won't go on about the rooms and grounds, as other have covered them better than I can: it's a well-maintained, Disney approximation of an elegant Big Island resort, and they do a great job keeping the theme. Even at the Christmas peak, we had no trouble getting to the parks between the boat launches and the resort monorail. My one complaint about the Hawaii building where the Club Level guests stay: none of the second floor rooms have balconies. This was a big disappointment, as one of my favorite vacation activities is enjoying coffee and pastries and the morning news on a balcony or patio to start the day relaxed. First and third floors have them, but we were unlucky enough to be put on the second floor, which seems unfair to those of us paying the same for our rooms. I hope this can be remedied in the future. But overall, it's a fun resort to relax at and experience Aloha when you're not racing around the parks.

My Family stayed at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. The convenience of having the resort located so close to Magic Kingdom & being able to take a boat over was crucial to having a stress-free experience. The evenings allowed us a front row seat to see the fireworks at Cinderella’s castle from across the water. The sunset movies on the beach were great fun for the kids & an easy walk back to the room afterwards. Our room was clean & I felt very safe on the property. Kids loved swimming at the pool & participating in the poolside activities with the staff. It was truly a memorable experience.

Disney's Polynesian Club Level has definitely picked up its game

I have stayed at the Disney Polynesian Club level on and off for approximately 15 years. I have also stayed at the Grand Floridian, Contemporary and Animal Kingdom Lodge all club level during this time. Last year, we skipped the Poly club level because we had found it had become stale and uninspired: the club lounge food was mostly fried, not plentiful, and service was just not there. This year, we decided to try it again and are very impressed with the changes: new lounge menus featuring fresh fruit, raw veggies, different fresh made hors d'ouvres, lots of drink choices. The concierges are for the most part much more interested in helping you and sorting out reservations than in the past when they seemed to be an entitled group of employees. The rooms look refreshed and the linens and bath items are very nice. Housekeeping is also much more consistent with turn-down service and keeping the rooms clean. We will definitely be back!
