    Love the Villas

    We stayed in the Villas this time and had a wonderful trip. Our room was on the second floor and the balcony had a great view. They also have BBQs on the decks, so we enjoyed cooking steaks and seafood for dinner. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pools are ok, but the access to the hotel next door is outstanding.

    Upscale resort that is a tremendous value

    The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort and Spa golf-oriented resort located just east of Palm Springs in Rancho Mirage. The sprawling property offers championship golf with all the resort amenities you’d expect from a Westin Brand. While the property is not on the level of the JW or Omni brands, you get a lot for your travel dollar. The stately grounds and common areas are very manicured; they have a large Kio Pond and a couple of resort owed rabbits and turtle that are fund for kids to visit. The sprawling grounds are great for evening or early morning walks. The Fireside Lounge is an awesome place to enjoy a beverage with its oversized gas fireplace. Our dinner at Pinzimini was awesome – the shrimp scampi was delicious. The pool area is small by peer standards but more than adequate for a short stay. The rooms are oversized by today’s standards including the extra-large bathroom; ours was a ground floor with a patio overlooking the gold course. As typical for resorts in the area, food and drink are expensive. Staff were friendly and professional. Highly recommend.

    Beautiful Grounds - Hotel Due for Renovation

    The grounds of this hotel and the staff are great! The rooms really need attention. Upon entering my room it had a musty smell. Upon opening the cabinet that held the safe, the smell was worse. Enjoyed the bar at the Adults Only pool...great bartender and staff. Food throughout my stay was also good. Golf course on property was closed due to winter seeding so we played the course a couple of miles away. Great course!! Anxious to see the hotel after it's renovation.

    Anniversary Getaway

    Our go-to spot whenever we visit the desert. Great service from the staff and well kept amenities! They even sent us an unexpected complimentary bottle of champagne and strawberries after we told them we were celebrating our anniversary at check-in. Only downside was the loud noises from guests upstairs you could hear from time to time. Definitely try to get a 2nd floor room if possible. Otherwise a relaxing stay and great getaway.

    House keeping is not what you would expect

    Funny how one bad experience can sour what should have been a pleasant weekend. OK, so I found and killed a roach in our room. I called the front desk to let them know thinking that they may want to call an exterminator after we leave. Was expecting an "I'm sorry to hear that" or "I apologize" but instead what I got was "I'll send an engineer". That's it! Fine. We were on our way to a dinner reservation and stopped off at one of the bars for a quick drink before we called an Uber and just happened to run into the GM so I thought I'd mentioned this to him. To his credit we saw him at the front desk as we left the hotel and he saw and confirmed our room number with me. This would have ended there except that when we returned the roach was gone but the bodily fluid stain from its confrontation with my shoe was not cleaned! A quick wipe would have sufficed. I called the director of services from the number on the card next to the bottle of wine that was left in our room and spoke to him. He asked me to send him the photos that I mentioned I had. He apologized and said that he will discuss this with his crew. The rest of the hotel was fine. Grounds are very nice. The staff is friendly. The food is good. Views are nice. House cleaning needs some work though as my wife did mention that she did notice some spots in the bathtub. Could easily have been 5 circles. Like I said, "one bad experience........".
