Third time at Dreams Palm beach. Staff remembered us and are as welcoming as ever very friendly and go out of their way to help holiday makers. The restaurants are good quality fresh food all the tine. We will be returning and highly recommend anyone wanting a first class holiday, look no further.

We booked originally to go to a different hotel however we got moved to this one. And I am glad that we did. On arrival, we were greeted with a drink and booked in. The staff were very helpful and the whole process took about 3 minutes. We were shown to our rooms and our cases followed shortly. The rooms are nice. A little outdated in places (bath etc) but it had everything you needed. In the morning a meeting with the rep (Thomas Cook, Max) and told about trips etc. We booked 2 trips, saona island and dolphin experience. Saona island (not the VIP trip)was good, picked up from the hotel, onto a boat, a nice sail to the island, a few stops along the way to snorkel etc. The food and drink at the island wasn’t the best, but it was enough to keep you going. Our guide, Franklin, knew his stuff and was fluent in loads of languages. In whole, a very long day (0640-1900) but an enjoyable one. The dolphin trip was amazing. The dolphin park in Punta Cana, is top class, the animals are well looked after and they seem happy. We got the Royal Swim, you do a lot more with the dolphins, 4-5 swims/rides/photos etc. The basic one is just a quick photo and a touch, the middle one is a ride/swim. If you don’t pay for the royal swim, then you will just watch the others do more. Well worth paying for it!! The hotel, is a new one on me, EVERYTHING is free including room service, brand names alcohol, cocktails, there are no wristbands as only AI people are here. They have theme nights at the restaurants, including dinner on the beach. The food is very good, and lots of it is especially cooked for you. You could quite happily come here with absolutely no money and still have a whale of a time. There are noisy areas, and quiet areas of the massive pool. The staff cannot do enough for you. The entertainment team are very good indeed. We came in September, and so it was not busy at all, would definitely recommend coming at this time. We had 3 downpours, but they lasted 10 minutes each and dried up very quickly.

    Good but wouldn't stay again

Stayed here as a couple for 10 nights 29th August until 9th September. Swim out room 4109 We arrived late because our flight was delayed and had no problems checking in and room was ready straight away. Bags were brought to the room quickly. Room: We had a 'swim out' room in block 4 which was fine. Good distance from lobby and beach. The rooms are dated but still looked nice and were very clean. The bed was huge and comfortable. The mini bar was refilled everyday although we only had the water and maybe a coke once or twice. Wouldn't have minded some snacks maybe crisps or something in there as have had in other resorts in Mexico. The bathroom wasn't as nice there was some mould in the corners, it looked like the ceiling was drooping down also. Just felt a little icky in there. The cleaners were wonderful and so friendly. They did a wonderful job everyday. They would even come out and say hello if we were in the pool bit outside of our room which was lovely. We really enjoyed the swim out part as did not have to worry about getting loungers and taking towels, bags etc around with us. The drop from the terrace to the grass was large though and also dangerous when wet and slippery. Possibly would be a struggle for older guests. The aircon and bathroom fan were both so loud and often unbearable. Both had to be turned off at night as stopped us from sleeping. Pool: the swimming pool was huge and stretched the whole length of the hotel. You do have to get out and get back in at one point though if you want to go from top section to middle and then swim up bar. It was often quite dirty and had bird poo in despite the staffs constant cleaning. Not sure if anything could be done about that. It is also really shallow throughout, would prefer a deeper part or section. Carlos at the swim up bar was probably my favourite employee in the whole resort. Food: The food was just OK, nothing spectacular unfortunately. Did not get to eat in the French restaurant. Portions in the Asian were small and we weren't offered the opportunity to sit at the grill which was disappointing. Breakfast at the buffet was the best of all the food breakfast/lunch/dinner. Crepe station and Burrito station were a real bonus. Although Burrito closed the last few days which was very disappointing. I was quite ill throughout the stay and I believe this was down to the food or ice in the drinks/cocktails. The beach was lovely, no seaweed issue and got loungers in the afternoon right at the front. We also took paddle boards out free of charge. We were disappointed by the entertainment team - we were only once informed about a game of volleyball and invited to join but nothing else for the other 9 days. Everywhere else we have been the entertainment teams have always been so friendly and inviting and made a conscious effort to get to know all guests and get them involved. We were also never offered drinks while in the pool or on our loungers outside of our room even though we saw waitresses taking orders and delivering drinks. Definitely felt no existent to the entertainment team and pool waitresses. We spent an afternoon in the spa and had massages and used the facilities which was lovely. The gym was also good for a hotel gym. We had a relaxing stay but I believe this was just down to being away from home with lovely weather, pool, beach and chill time. Would definitely stay elsewhere if we ever returned to DR. We did two trips via Amstar one to Catalina Island which was amazing and to Scape park. Both amazing and highly recommend.

My daughter Jessie and I had the most wonderful experience at this resort. From Joanna who took care of our rooms, to Jimilt and Andrea who made us the best top shelf cocktails and entertained us with their conversation in the preferred lounge. We felt completely safe and pampered. The food was exceptional in taste and presentation. We loved the steak house, but the Boudreaux French restaurant with Francisco, a well established waiter was completely over the top. If you go do the preferred level as the private beds on the beach, covered in the softest towels, in the shade, was the best place to hang and let the rest of the world go. Franklin will attend to your every need for food and the wait staff was always there. This beach is pampered and cleaned every morning before anyone even arrives, no seaweed to be seen....nightly entertainment was always fun and there was never a boring moment. We will return and would highly recommend this resort for its presentation, staff, food and safety. It has it all. - ginger, Denver Co

The main reason we traveled to Dreams was because we were contemplating having our upcoming wedding at their resort. We arrived to Dreams Punta Cana on Friday around 5:00pm. We tried to make arrangements to see the wedding coordinator right away, but instead they told us to go relax and unpack, that we would be able to do so the next day. On Saturday we passed by the wedding coordinator’s office around 10:30 am but it was closed with a sign that said she wasn’t far. We then headed to the main lobby to ask what time she was coming back. The people at the lobby told us that the w.c had gone to eat, and gave us an extension to call back in an hour. We called back 10 mins before an hour had passed. The wedding coordinator picked up and told us she couldn’t see us because on Saturday they closed at 12:00 pm, and that they were also closed on Sunday! We told them about our situation, and had traveled all the way from N.Y but she said she could not see us. I brought this up to the lobby, but again none of the staff members showed any interest in helping us have our wedding there. No one offered to at least show us the places where they held the wedding receptions or anything of that matter. We left the resort on Monday super disappointed. We will not have our wedding there and certainty wont come back to Dreams! I must say that we tried to make an appointment in advance when we called to make our transportation’s arrangements but they said to just do it directly at the resort once we were there. Aside from the lack of good customer service, a lot of their restaurants were closed. The steak house was closed 2 nights in a row. The French restaurant seemed improvised. Oceana had good food, but the servers were in such a rush to get us out of there. They started breaking down the restaurant an hour before they closed, and with us and many other customers there.
