Resort layout is beautiful, clean spacious rooms, great beach overall friendly staff.and the food was very good with lots of variety. Great pizza at the beach and good entertainment. But the service needs a lot of improving and staff needs training. Check-in was chaos with people all over the place checking in, out, just wanting to ask a question or change money. All mixed up and taking way too long. Rooms weren't ready till around 4pm.At the buffet staff had no idea how to pay attention to the customers to see if they needed something. They didn't seem to have an assigned area to look after so they were running around all over. Only some of the older ladies in the morning were efficient and quick to help. The a la carte restaurants were good especially the Japanese and Olive tree. Italian not so. 45 minutes for the soup to arrive and somebody waited an hour for a glass of water. A lot of people were frustrated and said they would never be back. But these are all problems that are easily remedied.

Overall great, but could be better

My friend and I stayed at this resort for 1 week on January 14th to 21st 2020. Weather was nice but windy. I rated this resort 4/5 stars, but I would not give it more than that. Rooms: the rooms are nice and very clean. Our maid made sure we had enough water and towels every day. However, you cannot see the ocean from the rooms in block 24 where we were staying. Big downside though was that we could hear EVRYTHING going on in the halls and in the room connecting to ours... It was very hard to sleep past 8 in the morning with the maids talking to each other across the hall. Location & beach: The resort location was, in my opinion, one of the best in Punta Cana. We walked a long way along the beach and we found that the beach at Impressive was by far the best one. It is wide and has plenty of space for chairs and there weren't really any seaweed. Also, the hotel seems to be located a bit out of reach so there seemed to be less locals on the beach trying to sell you things. I never once was approached. Pools: there were 4 pools on this resort. One was reserved for Prenium, which seemed nice but nothing special. One "tranquility" pool which we went to relax. One pool near the beach which I didn't really get the use of... Then there is the main pool which is kind of merged with the kiddy pool. This one could have been great but they put this enormous inflatable play structure for kids only right smack in the middle of the pool which was a very big eyesore. Food: the food is probably the biggest of my problems for this resort. I am a vegetarian but my friend eats meat. We both agreed that the food here was mediocre at best. There weren't many vegetarian options at the buffet and forget getting a veggie dish at one of the restaurants (except for the Italian). All the restaurants were mediocre except the Italian. The real upside for food was the pizza snack bar near the pools. The pizza's were absolutely delicious! Pizza was pretty much always available and almost no waiting time. Service: the service at this resort was great! Almost no waiting time at the bars, you get your drink very quickly. There were no shortages of beach towels. We actually changed our towels 3 times on one day because it kept raining on and off, and I am pretty sure everyone on the resort did the same, but there were still plenty of towels left! Service at the buffet was very bad. It was very hard to get your morning coffee or to get a clean table with utensils. Animation: The animation at this resort was great! The guys and girls were very entertaining but not pushy. There are themes each night for the theater, which was entertaining but not spectacular. We went to the Beach Party on Tuesday night and I would highly recommend it, it was awesome! When we felt like being more relax, we would head to the tranquility pool and were not disturbed at all. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and for the exception of a few negative points, it was great!

Very impressed upon arrival at the hotel, impressive lobby and grounds are lovely. Check in was easy, Libby was very helpful. We had an issue with being assigned to an occupied room but this was sorted quickly by Yefry. Blocks of rooms well spread out, there are golf carts to take you about if needed and you can call 0 from the room also, but easy enough to walk about. The room was very clean, nice double bed, complimentary toiletries plus vanity pack, sewing and shaving kits and other little touches. Fridge had Coke Sprite water and beer which was replenished daily. Modern bathroom with large shower with rain head and lots of hot water. Real hair dryer provided too. There are restaurants that you can make reservations for but this has to be done in the mornings. The buffet restaurant had a great selection; meat was very tender, there was a variety of meats fish, rice potatoes and pasta. Stations for salad, breads, pasta cooked to order, cheese selections, fruit and desserts as well as an ice cream freezer. Very impressed with the variety. The only negative was that it was busy ALL of the time! This meant that the staff were constantly running about, often didn't even get to give a drink order or when we did, had to wait a long time to be served. It was easier to get our own water and leave it at that! Also not very professional for the staff to be talking over tables as they were serving or clearing them... especially when I could understand what they were saying!! Also if you wanted eggs or omelette at breakfast, pasta or something cooked to order such as crepes at dinner, there was just one person cooking so it was a long queue! Breakfast at the Grill bar on the beach was much quieter and relaxing! The entertainment selection was well planned, there was even an introduction to Dominican food and dancing one afternoon which was nice. Evening entertainment much higher standard than we've ever seen before! The circus show was amazing. A good selection of pools to sit around, play park and pool for kids too. Not sure about the difference with Premium as their pool was near our room so people walking past constantly and a few places that they could eat, but didn't really seem to have exclusivity...I wouldn't have paid for it! All in all, a good hotel and if the deal was right, would be back again.
