Do not buy the timeshare

bevier78 on Apr 12, 2024

So, I’d like to start with we really like the resort. The problem that we have is the misleading information we were given during our timeshare pitch. We don’t even use the timeshare because it’s about double or triple the price that we were told originally it would be if we purchased the timeshare. When we were sitting with the sales team, we were told that the “all inclusive day rate” would range from “$60 a night in the low season UP TO $90 a day in the high season”. As of this week in April the average price PER PERSON is about $150 PER NIGHT. This is nowhere NEAR the prices we were told they range from. I purchased this timeshare based on the information I was given. What’s frustrating is that we have been back to Playa Del Carman TWICE and we didn’t even use our timeshare because the prices were so high, even as a TIMESHARE OWNER. It was cheaper to stay at other ALL-INCLUSIVE resorts. We basically threw away nearly 10 grand purchasing with this company. I wish we could get out of the remainder of this contract, but it looks like we’re stuck with it. It’s very disappointing ONLY because of the original misleading information we were given. Again, we really enjoyed the resort and amenities. It’s a great family resort. We just cannot afford to stay there with 4-6 people with the prices they currently provide for “TIMESHARE OWNERS”. To those going to the TiMESHARE meetings…BEWARE!

Outdated Resort

Michael S (Woodstock, Canada) on Apr 10, 2024

We initially visited this resort back in November 2017 and had a fantastic experience. So, when my wife’s sister and brother-in-law planned a trip to Sandos, we eagerly decided to join them from March 25-30, 2024. Opting for the adults-only select club, we were assigned room 2208 in the two buildings closest to the beach. Unfortunately, our stay hit a snag when water leaked from the room above, seeping through the light fixture into our bathroom on the second morning. Promptly, I made the ten-minute trek to the front desk to report the issue. Despite requesting an upgraded room due to the inconvenience, we were offered only souvenirs, champagne, and a room change to 2341. The catch? We were asked to vacate our current room by noon and wait until after 3:00 for the new one. Attempting to negotiate keeping our current room until the switch proved futile due to misunderstanding. Frustrated, I sought assistance from guest services in the middle of the resort. Thankfully, the manager there comprehended my situation and granted permission to retain access to our original room until 3:00. The new room, located on the third floor of the same building, presented its own challenges—non-functional elevators during our move and check-out on Saturday, as well as limited electrical outlets, necessitating rearrangement of the television to accommodate devices. Despite these room-related hiccups, the resort's staff, servers, and bartenders, particularly the premium lounge bartender, stood out for their attentiveness and courtesy. The beach is beautiful and finding loungers was never an issue, and the a la carte restaurants, especially Mexican and Italian, offered excellent dining experiences, albeit with really late booking times. The "Festival" buffet provided ample choices, and the adults-only breakfast at the "Ocean Front" restaurant, coupled with the chef's personalized egg preparations each morning, was a delightful touch. Evening shows added to the entertainment. The gym facilities were more than adequate and we thoroughly enjoyed playing pickle ball 3 evenings to stay out of the heat. Reflecting on our stay, while the resort's staff and amenities were commendable, the quality of the "adults-only" rooms didn't justify their price tag. Considering the plethora of newer resorts in the vicinity, some even at similar or lower rates, Sandos may need to reevaluate its pricing strategy. Additionally, investing in room upgrades and maintaining the surrounding gardens to prevent overgrowth and preserve views of the resort and beach could significantly enhance guest experiences. Sandos undoubtedly possesses potential but would benefit from improvements to truly shine.

Wonderful stay at Sandos

GabriellaWheeler92 (Tidworth, United Kingdom) on Apr 09, 2024

Really lovely trip away to Sandos Playacar. The restaurants were really lovely and varied. There is a small gym but good to get a workout in. Plenty of pools but if you want total bliss get the adults only all inclusive so you can enjoy kid free pools which really makes a difference. All the staff are so kind and welcoming. In particular Oscar who works at the pools in entertainment is very entertaining and makes you feel very welcome. With a funny and energy personality he is an asset to the team. Would recommend staying here
