Super nice place to stay, staff are friendly. Rooms are nice and clean. Maid staff are very friendly. Maintenance people are great and work hard to keep the resort looking clean everyday. I would recommend anyone to go here. Out of Aruba and Costa Rica I would definitely go back to Dominican Republic, Samana. It's a beautiful place and even the local people are friendly. Awesome place that I'll definitely be back to in the near future.

We are currently at the resort and having a great time. The beach is beautiful and the food is great. The only complaint I have is the staff. Not enough staff for the amount of tourists present. They take forever to give you water and coffee. Sometimes I think they care about cleaning the table than serving the customers. My wife and I have gone all over Dominican and find this is the best kept secret in Dominican. We will definitely be back in January of 2025 for two weeks.

Everything I write here has nothing to do with the staff that are wonderful !! The best in the DR in my opinion. But Bahia Principe needs to arrive to 2024 and fast ! A real 5-star hotel elsewhere does not have you pay extra for quality drinks, does not have a sick person have to go to the buffet because there is no room-service, does not still have cards for towels, card room keys that keep getting demagnetized. A real 5-star hotel has rooms that have been upgraded. A real 5-star hotel offers drinks in a bar with real glass glasses, not scratched plastic margarita glasses. A real 5-star hotel has the possibility to order cocktails in a la carte restaurants, not just wine and beer. And most importantly, it offers more than 3 a la carte meals for a week, leaving you with 4 days of buffet morning-lunch-dinner. El Portillo has the best beach and best staff. Will that be enough to keep people coming in the future?

Excellent value for the price. Resort was packed, staff managed very well. Food at 4 of 5 restaurants was excellent, don’t waste time going to the Brazilian it’s terrible food. Overall it was terrific. Our 8th time in 10 yrs. Yes we will return

We had an excellent week at El Portillo and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a laid back relaxed vacation Things you’ll like The beach …. plenty of space and shade for those who need. Not a lot of waves so good for kids. Also you can walk the beach either way a good distance The property and grounds are clean and well kept The food was tasty and there was always plenty of variety at the buffet. We tried several the ala carte restaurants (French, Italian, and Brazilian) and they were excellent The entertainment team did a great job through the day and certainly tried hard to get people involved in activities and the nightly shows Our room was large and comfortable. The cleaning staff kept it very clean and well stocked Improvement / organization is needed with the service at El Limon and bars as some staff are not as attentive as they could be. We often were seated at a table and had to wait a lengthy period for silverware water or coffee (we didn’t expect these things immediately but at times it seemed some staff looked past you).
