If you’re looking for a clean hotel... this isn’t the one! This is the hallway in front of our room. (1749)The carpets are also gritted with sand. We found the roach on our last day as we were leaving. We pulled the curtain all the way back to make sure nothing was pushed back behind it. We found trash and a huge roach: Trust me, we would not have been staying there after that. Room service is not an option. We stayed 7 nights and only had one day where housekeeping asked if we “needed anything” New towels had to be asked for every day. There’s also no where to hang the towels in the bathroom if we wanted to reuse them. (I have four teenagers) We stayed in a queen suite. Small kitchenette- no bowls or plates provided. Pull out sofa was awful- you could feel the springs. This is also a very alcohol driven hotel. Bars are located by both pools. If you have children I wouldn’t recommend hanging out by the pool: lots of adult conversation and activity. We waited for an hour to check in on a Friday around 5:00. Our room keys stopped working every day. Even though we kept them away from our cell phones etc. If you needed anything for your rooms it’s near impossible to get someone. No phone number to call for the front desk. You have to go down in person and wait in line to speak to someone. I received a automated text the day of check out to ask about our stay. “Paul” said he would give me a call to discuss the concerns- never heard back.

Beware!!! Beach chairs included in resort fees are in second row behind the umbrellas and Canopies

Check in was easy, upgraded to a better room upon check in. Every time after that if we needed anything, we had to wait in a long line to talk to the front desk employees. Room was functional. It was not fancy but seemed clean and the views were good. Housekeeping left a pile of towels on the bed but didn't do any cleaning. After that we just put the do not disturb sign out because we didn't need much. Housekeeping gave us extra coffee and soap when we asked them for it. They really like to leaf blow their property. It started pretty early in the morning and also throughout the day when we were napping. It was pretty loud but the property was clean! The pools were the perfect temperature every day and clean. The bartenders were awesome. We did have our key card stop working and a broken elevator the whole trip, but the second elevator worked so it was fin!e. The beach was absolutely amazing! The water was warm and the sand was so white and smooth. Our only complaint about the beach was my husband and I wanted to sit on the chairs that are included in the resort fees. We pulled them out from under the umbrella because we weren't going to be there long enough to warrent renting an umbrella. There was a whole row of umbrella chairs that were not being used, so we didn't feel it was any harm to want to sit with an unobstructed view of the ocean. The employee manning the chairs and umbrellas quickly came over to us and told us we had to sit in the second row behind the empty row of umbrellas. So, if you are envisioning yourself enjoying a nice view of the ocean in the chair that you pay for with your resort fees, know that you will be behind all the umbrella chairs, unless you want to pay for an umbrella. They also pack up the beach chairs around supper time so evening swimming and sunset viewing were chairless. The water activities were nice on beach but we found it cheaper to go else ware for activities because the activities on their beach were a bit pricey for us. The food was all good. We actually liked the coffee! We are picky coffee people so that says a lot. The night vibe was good. It had music and life but didn't feel like a huge party. The drinks were good The location is great. A publix and dollar tree a few blocks away, souvonier shop across the street. We ate at the revolving restaurant next door and it was a great experience. We found it really easy to get around St. Pete.

We stayed two nights at the Sirata. It's a nice property right on the beach. Our room was fine but needs to be cleaned better and some tlc on the room. The common areas are not being cleaned as well as you would expect. The floors in the elevators did not appear to be cleaned in the two days we were there. Same for the carpeted hallways on the guest floors. Since COVID-19 means your room is not cleaned until checkout, the hotel could use their cleaning staff to work on the common areas. We enjoyed the beach. Lounges are included in the daily resort fee (but umbrellas are an extra $ 20 per day). All the restaurants were really good. The portions are generous enough to share a lunch or dinner sandwich. The wait staff was great and seemed to be following good COVID hygiene. This hotel is nice enough but it could be better with more attention to cleaning and updating worn out items (such as the chairs in the lobby area).

DO NOT STAY HERE WITH YOUR FAMILY

First, I've been staying at the Sirata for 20+ years. My family owns a condo next door and we've been doing family functions at this "resort" for as long as I can remember. Every year it seems to be getting worse. My wife and twin 9-year-olds arrived Thursday and we booked a King Suite Oceanfront with a kitchen. I was very specific when I booked because we've stayed there so many times. Upon our arrival at 3:15 pm, we were greeted by a guard gate attendee who came literally 12" from my car window with no mask on to greet us. I immediately placed my hand up thinking he would get the hint that I did NOT want him that close, but he never caught on. We waited in line for 40 MINUTES while 2 front desk employees struggled to keep up with the guests arriving. We were told our room wasn't ready and we would receive a text when it was ready. We were also told we wouldn't have to wait in the line again. Fast forward to 4:15 and still no text. My wife heads to the front desk and stands about 10 feet from the desk. The young man behind the counter asks if we received a text? We said not yet but it's after 4. He then replied, sarcastically "that doesn't mean your room is ready, that just means that we START checking people in at 4". Seriously? Then he tries to explain its because of Covid. I ask to speak with a manager and amazingly our room was ready just like that. We get to the room in building 1 on the 6th floor and wouldn't you know it, not a single housekeeping cart or person on the whole floor. The room had probably been ready for a while. The "kitchen" was a small fridge that was frozen solid with a microwave. No silverware, no bowls, no plates, no toaster.......When I called down they said it was because of COVID. Catching the trend here? COVID was the reason for everything at the hotel. I receive a text message asking how the room is and I explained how we specifically requested a kitchenette and this wasn't ok. The person texting says they are going to PULL the TAPES and listen to my reservation. I encouraged it and said I'm looking forward to hearing it. I've attached a pic. Never heard another word......Meanwhile we had a ton of food and drinks that needed a home........ Attached are the photos from the sheets and comforter. Stains everywhere and holes in the sheets. Maintenance had to come up twice and replace batteries in remote controls. AC in our Master room was 10 degrees warmer than the living room where my kids were sleeping. On Friday am, I walked down to the front desk and there was no manager on the property. I informed the front desk that our room was hot and my kid's room was freezing. About 3 hours later a tech comes up and shoots the temp and says nothing is wrong and leaves. The following two nights, the same exact thing. Kids were freezing and Mommy and Daddy were sweating. Saturday night was our last night. We went to bed around 11 and woke up to loud music and partying at 340 am. Then the kids woke up as well. It continued for about 20-30 minutes before security finally shut it down. In the manager's defense, how weak it might be..........He called and left a voicemail for me Saturday saying they've changed the sheets. Then Sunday he texted me saying he's made an adjustment to our bill. I'm not sure what it was, maybe like 100 bucks off our 1200 dollar stay. The clientele is a whole other story. We paid over 300 dollars a night but clearly they drop the prices to fill the hotel when it's not booked. There were people smoked joints sitting outside their rooms and literally trashing the place. If you plan on taking your kids here, DON'T. The level of service has gone totally downhill as well as the hotel. It's honestly sad to see because we have so many great memories here. We will book somewhere else on our next trip up.

My daughter loves it here. This is where she chooses to celebrate her birthday every year. A big thanks to Brandon and the nice ladies he works the pool bar with for always making it extra special. We will be back soon.
