The area has bad food, bad beers, mediocre views of local wildlife such as ducks, turtles. Half the lights dont work, but yet its a thing to visit when you're bored. Its a small walk from Epcot, next to few other hotels. But its not a highlight to anyone unless you ran out of things to complete.

We have stayed at Boardwalk before and loved it. This time not so much. You need to be aware that there are no boats at this time between Boardwalk and Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Bus transportation is available to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs only. This means you have to walk to Epcot and Hollywood. So if you have elderly people in your party, a scooter is a must. They have also suspended service to get purchases delivered to rooms and of course no extra magic hours. Generally there is an energetic, fun vibe at Boardwalk, but the Bakery, the Italian restaurant, and the gift shop are all that is open. There is nothing to do at night, which is important especially since the parks close so early. I do have to give a shout out to the lady at the front desk from NY, don’t remember her name but she went out of her way to help us. The bell hop again not so much. Very rude when I asked for a luggage cart. At a resort like this, the bellhops should carry luggage for you. I honestly feel like I should’ve stayed off property this time because there were none of the usual perks. Could’ve saved a lot of money.

    Disney Mardi Gras

We haven’t had a trip to Disney World in 9 years when we decided this year to go for Mardi Gras break. My husband has always wanted to stay at the Boardwalk so we thought this would be the perfect time. We had both our kids with us, ages 9 and 14, and we got one room for the 4 of us. While it is probably the last time we can all squeeze into one room there really wasn’t a space problem. Our daughter snapped up the twin bed in the sofa and was comfortable all week..and she is really tall and still has space. The 3 of us split the two queen beds comfortably. The room had a nice, quiet, view of the garden area. We absolutely loved this resort. The look and feel of the place was so great and the amenities gave us freedom to come and go as we pleased. My husband and I ate dinner at the Italian restaurant one night while the kids played around the resort and got dinner on their own (which is where those bands come in real handy for them). There were things going on at the Boardwalk every night from movies on the lawn for the kids to performers just outside all the stores. Having the general store and a choice of restaurants right within walking distance gave us options outside of eating at the parks. One big perk is the ability to walk right to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. It is a short walk either left or right to one of the parks and we really enjoyed the ability to walk back and forth without having to wait for transportation. We did take the boat one time and it was a fun ride but not necessary unless you just can’t walk one more step! The staff was so pleasant and able to answer the few questions we had. The bar was great for a drink and we ended up using the laundry facilities twice. One thing we did notice is that even though there are a lot of children around (after all it is Disney), it never felt like it. Unlike the time we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, we found the Boardwalk a quieter option, not really noticing kids yelling and being loud. Could be the time of year or it could just be that having more outdoor space lessens the noise. Overall I would highly recommend this resort if you are looking for something relaxing and very unique. Our kids asked us on day 2 if we could make this our hotel the next time we go back. We definitely will.

I found this hotel to be filled with peaks and valleys of service. Checking-in was a marathon event for the couple who traveled with me while my room was ready within an hour of my arrival. I payed for an upgraded room - not sure if that was the difference. The hotel was clean (peak) but the crew was completely unaware of noise that they made prepping and cleaning (valley). Just how many times to you have to slam a door in 10 minutes. Overall, i came away with a better than average experience;however, i felt that the price differential between this and the Contemporary was not worth the compromise.

Then you don't like ice cream. No really, whats not to like about the Boardwalk. I will break it down. Location: Hmm...shall I walk to Epcot, take a boat to Hollywood Studios or the Skyliner....all footsteps away....or shall I grab a croissant in France and then take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom......hmm...decisions decisions. Hotel: Great staff! As most Disney staff, the Boardwalk folks go above and beyond to make you feel not only welcome but very special. The hotel is set in the old amusement park Coney Island type theme and Disney pretty much nails it here with unbelievable furniture, paintings, and decor. Although maybe a bit reminiscent of the movie "The Shining" if you let it, the Boardwalk Inn sets itself apart from all of the other Disney resorts with its Boardwalk action and a huge selection of food outlets and night entertainment including carnival games. Jelly Rolls featuring the dueling pianos is not to be missed by adults. There are some similarities in decor to the Beach Club, which is welcome since that is my Favorite resort. On this trip I stayed at 5 different Disney resorts as research for my Travel Company and the Boardwalk was tops for accommodations, ambiance, location, and pools. Pools: Ok..the main pool with the creepy clown waterslide is where all the action is. Although not a warm pool, your kids will definitely make some friends while you enjoy the sunshine and relaxation knowing the eyes of the Disney lifeguards are always vigilant. The quiet pool located in the "cottage area" of the Boardwalk is very quiet and serene. This unique area is like no where else in Disney. Its a beautiful "neighborhood" of cottage like accommodations with beautiful gardens and white picket fences and the quiet pool & hot tub tucked in back. The other quiet pool is only a stones throw from the main pool and is so warm! Both quiet pools were just that...quiet...but no lifeguards. The Boardwalk is immaculately clean and has something for everybody with kids activities constantly all day. A Great Resort!
