WestJet Connect is available on select aircraft. The WestJet Connect Wi-Fi network will be available once the aircraft has pulled back from the gate and the cabin crew members have completed their safety demonstration.

If using a laptop, open a new browser window and go to www.westjetconnect.com. You will need to install a Flash plugin to watch TV shows and movies.

*Enable Flash within your laptop settings

Though your device is in Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi can still be turned on. Having the device in Airplane Mode will ensure your mobile network and Bluetooth transmissions are disabled.

No, TV shows and movies are stored on our onboard server; they are complimentary and can be accessed without an Internet connection.

No, streaming from Netflix and other similar sites is not permitted. For an optimal entertainment experience, we recommend downloading Netflix movies to your device prior to boarding or using WestJet Connect stored TV shows and movies instead.

No, texting via SMS requires a cellular network connection and is not available on WestJet Connect flights. If an Internet package is purchased, messaging apps like Messages (iOS) or WhatsApp can be used in-flight.

WestJet selects content with all of our guests in mind. We place content advisories and synopses on all of our films and TV shows to empower you to make choices suitable for you and your family. After you click on the movie/TV thumbnail you will see the synopsis and content advisory information located underneath the media player.

WestJet Connect is your gateway to hundreds of hours of popular movies and TV shows for free.

WestJet Connect will be activated once all guests have boarded and the doors are closed, so you can start watching TV shows or movies while you're still on the ground and continue watching throughout your flight until the aircraft lands and the doors open.

You can watch TV shows and movies from a browser on your laptop, or from our free iOS or Android WestJet app on your mobile devices.

  • Supported mobile devices will require the WestJet App
  • Laptops do not require an app but they do require a Flash plugin

Only Laptops require you to install a Flash plugin to watch TV shows and movies. You will receive a prompt to download the plugin (if needed) when you try to watch TV shows or movies.

  • Safari, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome are supported browsers (Chrome will require you to connect to the Internet for the plugin to validate and function)
  • Mozilla and Edge browsers are not supported.

While WestJet Connect will work on all supported browsers, the preferred browsers are:

  • Internet Explorer (version 9 or newer)
  • Safari (version 6 or newer)

You will need 2 plugins to watch movies and TV shows on your laptop Internet browser.

Step 1 – Adobe Flash Player

To determine if you need to install a Flash plugin:

  • Launch WestJet Connect
  • Go to Entertainment > Movies/TV and select a genre
  • If a Flash plugin is needed, a message will appear in the video tile to download the plugin. Note: Most PC’s and Mac’s already have Flash installed, which will work fine. For security purposes, the browser vendors now purposely disable Flash, so the browser specifically may need to be enabled for Westjetconnect.com. Not having these settings will usually prompt you to download the Flash player.

Please check these settings to readily allow Flash for westjetconnect.com and go forward without continually requesting re-installation if it is already installed.

Download the WestJet app on your mobile device to enjoy the full experience of WestJet Connect including TV shows or movies. New TV shows and movies are added monthly.
