Stayed at the Royalton Antigua in November to celebrate a landmark birthday. The room was very nicely appointed with plenty of space. We overlooked the lagoon and had a partial ocean view. Housekeeping was great and towels were refreshed during the turn down service in the evening. Mini bar was well stocked with beer and soft drinks. It did seem, however, that our air conditioning at it's warmest temperature was way too cold for us. The beach had beautiful white sand and clear water. There were plenty of chairs both at the beach and at the pools. Service at the pool area was very slow and I cannot say that after being there for one full week did someone ask me if I would like a drink from the bar. The a la carte restos were pretty good. The steakhouse was the best. Order the ribeye. The Caribbean too was also very good serving some dishes that were kind of exotic to us. The buffet restaurant was hit and miss. Often there was a lack of food. There were simply empty dishes at each station with no food in them during prime time. Additionally, the foods that were supposed to be hot were not hot. Not even warm. The servers in the buffet were kind of miserable. Never smiling. Not very appealing. We had the butler service and found that both of our butlers were fabulous. Very nice and friendly.

Cellina was the best, our room was always stocked and spotless! She is a very personable and pleasant lady dedicated to doing excellent work! Our room was quite nice with very comfortable beds & pillows! All staff are so happy, polite, helpful and dedicated, except the front desk management & administration. The "check-in reception/process was 1.5-hour nightmare, especially at midnight - make sure you get receipts for everything or you may be charged again on checkout! The buffet has an excellent assortment of food for all diets, a little more gluten options would give it a 200% score. The cafe is excellent! The 4 other restauants have great food too but service is slow, 1.5-hours LATE! Pool, whirlpools & beach are great. The pool "bubble party" can be life-threating, TAKE CAUTION with kids! It would be much safer if the machine ran bubbles intermittenly (not constant) and were dispersed rather than one direction only. It's terrible that the service elevator has been broken for a few months. It's back-breaking work for staff to haul supplies up to the higher floors. The staff should be cared for better, as they give their all 400%! Will return often!
