Stayed at Crystal cove in September for 2 weeks, there is no way this resort is 4 star, during our stay we had to go to reception 4 times asking for shower gel which hadn’t been left by the maids, resulted in waiting 30-40 minutes for them to turn up with it, there where black hairs in the bath and on the bathroom floor when we arrived, and there supposed to do a deep clean because of covid, the room was never cleaned properly, the bar ran out of premium drinks 4 nights in a row, and when we questioned the bar staff we would get a sharp and rude reply, and no Carib beer one afternoon. Hardly any evening entertainment, the sun lounges are mostly broken with the sun canopy; and splattered with bird crap, the locals sit around a tree through the day and dump old bottles next to it, we walked to breakfast in the mornings past the swimming pools and there were stilll lots of glasses left around from the night before, some staff are very pleasant but others just cant be bothered with you, the rooms are very dated and need refurbished, we have stayed in a lot of 4 star hotels around the world and this is no where near a 4 star. If you are looking to travel to Barbados then my advice would be look for a different hotel, we understand that covid has changed the way we all holiday but there is still no excuse for bad service and rudeness and when you pay a premium price for you holiday you expect to get what’s been advertised
Stayed 10-17th Sept 21

We're experienced Barbados visitors but have tended to stay away from hotels more recently but as we were going for three weeks this year we decided to have two weeks on the south coast in our usual apartment and then have a week at an all inclusive for a bit of pampering.
We chose Crystal Cove as we are beach people rather than pool people and from the pictures we viewed in advance the beach there looked the most inviting. Sure enough we were not disappointed as the beach & water sports are top notch with plenty of comfortable loungers and a wide range of water sports available.
We stayed in an ocean view suite (room 129) which is fully air conditioned, two story and two bathrooms. The room was bright, clean and airy and plenty roomy for two people. I believe that the sofa in the lounge is actually a sofa bed (hence the downstairs bathroom) but we didn't need to use this.
Pool bar was great and being mostly gin and rum drinkers we were happy to learn that Gordons and Mount Gay were available. Also a good choice of cocktails. Coffee bar upstairs was a great place to have a drink in an air-conned environment and the espresso martinis went down a little too well at times !!
Food was as you would expect from an all inclusive being passable with a couple of nice surprises and to be honest although there is a little queueing when they do buffets it's really no great stress (after all what else have you to do??)
All staff we encountered were courteous and helpful
Hotel was very Covid conscious and felt safe all the while we were there
I read comments on these type of hotels looking 'tired' and 'need some TLC' and I'm sure in some instances this is an accurate assessment but it has to be acknowledged that these types of hotels are used 365 days a year so no they're not going to be re-painted every other month or the furnishings and carpets be replaced every six months or a year. They are functioning hotels that have a lot of use and sometimes things will get a little frayed around the edges and bits will get bumped and chipped. They are what they are and I found that this hotel was generally well maintained.
All in all if anyone were to ask me to recommend an all inclusive in Barbados, for value for money I would have no hesitation in pointing them towards Crystal Cove
