I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions over the last two years for both business and holiday. It is incomprehensible how the services are getting deteriorated. I have booked ocean view standard room from their website. When I arrive at the hotel I was told that they have run out of ocean view standard room. This is despite having a clear proof of booking including advance payment of the first night and despite being a Hilton Honors member. I was offered a reduced rate 'upgrade' to premium room with additional 40 USD per night. I have agreed out of lack of options and as I was already charged for the first night. On check out day I found out that I was locked out of my room 15 minutes before the 11:00 deadline, while I was heading to pick my packed luggage and clear out on time at 11:00. I went to the front desk to ask for extension so that I can clear the room after picking my luggage. I was at the front desk queue at 10:50 and I was only able to be attended by the front desk agent called SAMARA only at 11:10 as both agents were busy with single customers for 20 minutes. When she attended me Samara was very upset that I didn't checkout on the check out time of 11:00 as they are fully booked. I tried to explain calmly on what has happened. Instead, she has raised her voice and started uttering inappropriate words. When I said I will file a complaint as her treatment is not appropriate, she was even furious and said in a very disturbing loud voice 'I can write you my name. You can complain'. I was shocked by this treatment. Once I checked out I tried to reach the general manager or the duty manager to file a complaint on several occasions and my calls consistently been directed to answering machine. I suspect it was intentional as I mentioned to the operator that I wanted to file a complaint. I will never stay again and I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hilton Barbados requires an overall facelift as it is dated. Inside the room, the bathroom is very basic and should be adjusted to modern standards. The staff is great and is always trying to help. However, on our last day we were promised that we could check out late based on room availability (our flight back was leaving at night). When our last day came, we were told that the hotel was at full capacity even though I could book rooms online. I do not believe that what I was told was true and for that reason, I will not come back

I read the reviews and most have some truths. All I can say is that we had a great time at the hotel and the first time in Barbados. Loved every second. The hotel is dated but the room remodeled, nice and spotless. We are beach people and the beach was beautiful and the water was blue! Food was mediocre but we didn’t eat there except for one morning buffet and some food at the beach bar. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping was on it and when we got back from the beach the room was fresh and clean. Couple minor complaints. Check in was disorganized. Also, note to Hilton. I know that the hotel gift shop was being remodeled but you should offer some sundries, advil, in the coffee shop. Minor issue, The people on that island are so nice, always felt safe. You can do everything or nothing! Can’t wait to go back!

The Hilton Barbados Resort is a little ''tired'' but nevertheless our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is well situated next to a good beach (although the sea can be a little rough). The breakfast was very good with plenty of choices of both hot and cold food. Prices for food are high, but that seems to be the norm for Barbados these days! What lets this place down is the pool area and bar. What's good is that there is no music blaring out at pool side, the pools are quite nice and the organised pool activities (such as aqua zumba) are well organised. What's bad is that there are not enough sun loungers for the number of guests (whilst we were there anyway), and the poolside bar. The service at this bar (especially for food) is very poor. At first is was unclear how this bar functions because we sat at a table for 10 minutes or so without being attended to, so I thought that maybe the food should be ordered at the bar, but eventually table service appeared . On 2 occasions we waited more than half an hour for the food to come out (40 minutes on the second occasion), When the food eventually did appear the quality was poor. the fish & chips were greasy, and my partner had a Hawaiian pizza that was almost inedible - a base like crispbread, hardly any topping and small pieces of pineapple that were almost fermented. Some of the staff at this bar were friendly and smiled, but some couldn't be bothered. I couldn't quite put my finger on the actual problem at this bar - maybe it was understaffed, maybe the staff were just fed up or underpaid, but it needs to be sorted out because it lets the hotel down and is not the standard that is expected of the Hilton Hotel Group.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel in early March! Check was smooth and quick too. The staff are professional and very friendly. The beds were very comfortable and one can chose the softness of your pillows! We would recommend the buffet breakfast and the lovely chef will cook you a delicious omelette with your choice of ingredients! We usually had fresh fruit to start, followed by a cheese, mushroom, chopped tomatoes and mixed peppers and bacon! We then carried our tummies out on wheelbarrows!!! The white sandy beach is the best on the island and the “pool lads” are absolutely brilliant! Our memories of this Hilton are priceless and we will return in October!
