Beautiful Hotel

DrMAJones (San Francisco, California) on Feb 04, 2023

The Hilton Barbados is always great. We had a great trip. The customer service is great and this is a full service hotel with great views, amenities and food. We had a beachfront room with a large balcony. The location is perfect to get anywhere on the island. I highly recommend this hotel and will be back again.

Expensive but average hotel in a stunning location.

Average hotel, fantastic location. Nice friendly staff. However, major complaint about lack of communication between concierge and front desk. My husband, who had arrived two days before me, arranged for a private transfer to collect me from Grantley Adams airport and that transfer never appeared. I had to find my own way to the hotel. When I questioned the lack of transfer, I was told that it had been cancelled because there was no one under my name was checking in on the same day, despite the fact that my husband had email confirmation, has the same surname and had informed the desk that I would be joining him.

Nice beach and good choice of restaurants

Reslysten54 (Vienna, Virginia) on Jan 30, 2023

It started a bit awkwardly when our room lacked water bottles and shampoo and the safe did not work, but this was promptly fixed on request. The location is very good, right on a spacious beach. Swimming in the sea, however, was red-flagged most of the four days we spent there and the sand on the beach soon turned into rocks that I encountered when swept back by a powerful wave. I kept to the pool after that. There is a wide choice of restaurants and we particularly enjoyed La Cabane which is right on the beach. I had a memorable Mahi-Mahi there. The locatin makes it easy to walk into Bridgetown as well.

Nice beach with big waves

LeslieP69 (Budapest, Hungary) on Jan 30, 2023

Comfortable room with good aircondition. The beach is beautiful with white sand and big waves. There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, no need to rush down early. Staff at the bars are not too helpful and friendly. Breakfast is boring, nothing exciting.

I booked this Hotel through a Travel agent and paid for a premium room with a balcony and ocean view . The room was on the six floor. All the other floors had balustrade railings with uninterrupted views , which meant in those rooms you could sit on the balcony with views of the ocean and beyond . Our room had a concrete balustrade /wall which meant the views were restricted and you had to stand up to see the ocean . If you were sat on the balcony all you could see at eye view was the wall . When we approached the front desk to complain ,it was all down to the discounted rooms that they give third party agents and therefore only allocate this type of room for these companies . Advice if you book through a travel agent this is what you may get. If you book direct through Hilton which is a lot more expensive ,they give there guest better choice . However even though we are Hilton members it made no difference. On another note this particular hotel has stopped cleaning rooms on a daily basis , we were there 5 nights with the same sheets and towels etc . If you wanted to acquire more basic essentials ie loo rolls you to had to ask the front desk. We had friends staying at a nearby alternative hotel who said there Hotel were doing there full cleaning service . So if you want a proper daily cleaning service stay elsewhere . We found generally that this Hotel was very dated and not the normal quantity of the Hilton Group . We also discovered that the Hotel is owned by the Barbados government and is run on a Hilton Franchise and is actually up for sale . The location beach front was fabulous. The staff were incredibly helpful. The Breakfast and bar food was also great. The downfall is the price and the establishment who manage the Hotel.
