6 star performance from wonderful hotel

557garethj (Nutfield, United Kingdom) on Oct 27, 2021

Stayed here for one week in October 2021, The initial impression as we arrived (my wife, daughter and I) was misplaced. It's uninspiring design outside concealed a hidden gem inside. Mrs Lewis, the GM runs a very profeassional and personable team who are focused 100% on their residents. From the waiting team in the restaurants to the people on the beech everyone is smiling and cannot do enough fro you. Ahkeem at front desk, Tracy-Ann and Honey on rstaurant duty to the guys on the beech helping you with beds and drinks. Everyone is great, We went all inclusive and there is a great choice differing day to day. Drinks are top brands and good quality. Rooms are spacious, well designed and are freshly decorated. The outside seating and drinking area looking straight out onto the Ocean is breathtaking and will give the visitor plenty of scenes to remember when you are forced to leave! Free watersports keep the active beech-goer busy whilst the location means if you do want to go out-out there are plenty of nearby restaurants and amenities. Cannot wait to go back

Overpriced and over rated

We had to stay in Barbados for 14 days to transit into the USA We wanted something easy so we read all the reports on all inclusive hotels on Tripadvisor and overall Waves seemed to have the less bad reviews So let me give my unbiased findings Free water sports excellent Ferry between hotels good idea Beach small, clean and adequate Ocean view room large and clean Breakfast average/ poor Lunch and dinner average/ good Shishi restaurant very good Wine selection and drink cheapest rubbish possible Staff with the exception of a couple of waiters unfriendly and doing you a favour if they served you Swimming pool permanent smell of sewage in small pool Pool across the road by the spa poor condition and a few people asked to be removed from those rooms Covid protocol was adhered to as much as possible A few people complained and the answer was they expected too much from a 3 star hotel ? Unfortunately it is a 5 star price at £8128 for 16 nights But that is Barbados. Waves seems to be the best all in inclusive but you can get so much more anywhere else in the world And if you dare to go out for a meal expect a serious bill Sorry lastly the hotel is NOT suitable for disabled despite and elderly couple being told by the hotel it was.lots of steps When asked how his elderly wife could get to the beach they said they would carry her ! Trust he will take it further

“What is there not to like”

Turco1925 (Woodford Green, United Kingdom) on Oct 17, 2021

Anyone familiar with walking along the Beach will have noticed the boat with the above title, I felt it was a perfect title and sums up not just the beautiful Island of Barbados and it’s friendly people but Waves Hotel too. This is my second visit, and again I could not fault anything, the staff go out of their way to make sure you want for nothing,Sabrina, Chad, Tanya R, Pamela to name just a few, they genuinely love what they are doing, and the management are just as pro active. Rooms are spacious and I would recommend paying the extra and having a sea view. Beach lovely and clean with plenty of beds, water sports etc,. alternatively the adults pool and spa across the road, nice touch with the complimentary spa treatments. Good choice of food and drinks, try Sisho restaurant too. Thank you Waves cannot wait to see you all again soon.

Magical memories 5*

I am writing this review on the last day of my holiday , laying on the tranquil beach surrounded by beautiful weather and sea. 1st must say glad we picked this hotel , when we arrived was greeted by most friendly staff at reception who got us a lovely cool cocktail , much needed after our journey. Also our room was upgraded to a seaview free of charge which was wonderful. Food was amazing, choice of two restaurants, both were amazing, you could also go to sister hotels for lunch or dinner, but you need to book. Staff cant do enough for you, they are all amazing , Pamela, sabrina, tanya, melissa, joy, chadderton, kim, ryan, too many to mention all but they all go above and beyond to make your stay special so a big thankyou to you all. Very covid safe too, temperature taken, sanitised stations around hotel, masks worn felt very safe. Went into bridgetown, and oisins by bus which u can get outside hotel , that's worth a trip also swam with turtles, which was a magical moment, another worthwhile trip . Nothing negative to add , just a magical e experience , and will definitely be returning.

FAVE WAVE

NorthStar802791 (Durham, United Kingdom) on Oct 16, 2021

We were moved to Waves as Turtle Beach was closed. on arrival the outside area is very disappointing no glamour to it at all, the smell from the drains is horrendous, very small reception area, staff were friendly, room and balcony were nice, bathroom needs attention, tiles floor ect, beds comfortable, cleaned daily, we were located on the ground floor end room next to tress so the amount of mosquitos in our room was a nightmare, we had everything going from deep, aftersun with mozzie repellent, even went and got citronella oil, bit to bits, killed loads in the room, there was a cleaning cupboard next to our room, cleaners used it from 6am which was noisy and door covered in mozzies, we were woken early every morning by cleaners in that room! Bar staff were friendly and made lots of drinks of your choice, bar closed at 11pm which was disappointing and only entertainment 4 nights out of 10, some of them very good, by 11pm everyone had gone to bed except us! Bar is open so yet aga in mozzies were out in force! Main restaurant was OK but quite chotic at times, the best restaurant was over the road at the Asian Restaurant food was lovely , Spa is ok and pool is across a busy road, best thing about this hotel is the beach and sea views, all staff work hard on beach, Chad and Pam are superb, bringing drinks lollies grapes, staff on the free water activities are great also, we used the dine around programmes with the water taxis, we preferred Treasure Beach Hotel a walk along from Simon Cowell and Rhiannas house, We went on cool running catamaran which was fab, Covid tests at the airport were brutal! However the fun we had outweighed the negatives.
