Disappointing room and lobby
Vacation01056882678 on Sep 23, 2023
The hotel is very centrally located but to be honest Banff is a very easily walkable town so wherever you stay in town would be easy to get around. The lobby area was disappointing. Quite small and the electric fireplace was tacky. We were given one token for a free drink which as there were two of us the gesture was lost on us, seemed a bit cheap not to give us two tokens. The room was modern and had good amenities. I loved the tiling in the bathroom. My biggest disappointment was that we looked into a roof and wall which made the room very dark and claustrophobic and for $500 a night it seemed like very poor value for money. We stayed in room 414. Needless to stay on our next visit we will try somewhere else.
Absolute not done

How can you gave out rooms next to air units on the roof and put earplugs in the room ? So you know the sound is not acceptable, this is not done. You do not do that to Your guest who pay enough money and like to have a good rest in the night. Very very disapointed never seen this before Also if you check in, you get only one free drink at the hotel bar? So the other one you have to pay.
Comfortable main street stay.

Perfect location for us, right on the main street of Banff. Was easy to walk to local restaurants, bars, shops and catch local buses. Stayed three nights. Slept really well as bed was comfortable with decent pillows and not much noise from main street. Our room faced the main street, fourth floor, with nice views of some of the surrounding mountains. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had easy parking for our rental car. We would stay here again and are recommending it to friends and family who plan to travel to Banff.
Very central, lovely room

A huge benefit to be in the centre of Banff. My room was big, nice to have a quiet fridge, robes and an Nespresso coffee in the room, but there was a loud (engine/humming/whistling) noise every night, which I presume is why they had provided ear plugs. It didn’t prevent me from sleeping well though. The outdoor hot tubs are very welcome after a day out exploring. The lounge upstairs was quiet. I wish they wouldn’t take the $200 deposit upfront. They said it was just a pre-authorisation, but it definitely created a hole in my Revolut acccount. I’ve still not had it refunded over 24 hours post check out. Nice to have a welcome drink at the Brazen restaurant on arrival. Food and drink was not the best value for money, but very tasty and different from the usual fares encountered in town.
Great location, walking distance to restaurants

Overall the hotel was nice and staff helpful. However if you are booking avoid the rooms that overlook machinery and are blocked in with walls outside your window. They are oppressive and gloomy. Make sure you book a ‘normal’ room which is nice. So I have rated the rooms based on the gloomy one. The one we eventually stayed in after asking to move was very nice .
