Pet friendly doesn’t mean friendly pets…

WestOfTheFifth on Feb 24, 2024

So we typically in the industry want people to leave our establishments happy, one way or another. So I politely voiced my dissatisfaction to the front desk, (by no means looking for “comps” but maybe acknowledgment and potentially a gesture) but unfortunately I still left unhappy. So here is my unbiassed review. . first I will say to those who are looking…this is a PET FRIENDLY hotel. I missed this somehow….So just understand, that being woken up by a barking dog in your hallway on your vacation is something that COULD happen…And DID happen to us. …But I was told by the front desk that it’s a “pet friendly hotel”….and when a dog on a leash lunged and barked at our family as we came out of the elevator to our room … I was told it’s a “pet friendly hotel”. Maybe “pet friendly” doesn’t mean “friendly pets”. The pool and hot tub were very “strong” , we all felt it on our skin immediately after and for a couple of days.…pool was also very busy in the evening time . And the elevator… wow….a mind of its own it seemed. You would think it’s coming from 30 Stories up. That’s the bad… The room was comfortable tho. Clean and There was a little fireplace and a decent bathroom. There seemed to be plenty of parking, it’s walking distance on a nice day to the town and it’s cheaper than most competitors. The breakfast buffet was decent content wise, had a good variety, but struggled to keep up with the people. I’m sure if you want to bring your dog with you this would be a great place to stay. BUT if you want 100% chance of not being woken up or having your children barked at by a dog in the hallways on your vacation then maybe it’s not for you? 4/5 for room condition/food/general areas 2/5 for my experience and the policy and how it was handled 3/5 overall to be fair

Not worth the price

Karla H on Dec 31, 2023

Room: Got to our room and noticed the pillows on the one bed were covered in dirt looked like they were dropped in dirt and picked up again, also noticed that the bottom sheet wasn’t clean (had marker on it) and noticed nacho chips on the floor (indication room was not cleaned well) not a great first impression. Went to front desk to have our room looked at, the housekeeper changed the pillow cases but did not want to change the bedding as he said it’s clean just won’t come out. Too tired from travelling to argue. Next morning went to shower no conditioner was refilled and no lotion was in our room. Went to the front desk to ask for our beds to be stripped (didn’t feel very comfortable) conditioner to be topped up and lotion if they have it (so dry this time of year). Came home from a long but fun activity day, showered and went to bed. Conditioner was refilled but no lotion. Hopped into bed, and immediately could tell that this wasn’t clean crisp bedding. Pulled over the sheets noticed there was hair (assuming dog hair) as they are pet friendly. Daughter and I slept on top of the top sheet for the night. I would say they definitely need to improve and pay more attention to cleanliness of the rooms. Pool: The pool was very gross and dirty. Went into the hot tub and tiny grits of sand in the bottom and was super cloudy water, didn’t stay long that’s for sure. Also had a very high chlorine smell which usually indicates there’s too much bacteria for the chemicals to get rid of. Also there was never any pool towels to use. Breakfast: impressed that it was a hot breakfast, but staff had a very hard time keeping it maintained and clean. Staff: very friendly staff but seemed very lazy at just wanting to do the bare minimum. Overall if cleanliness is your top priority this isn’t the place for you.
