Take a Pass unless you have an obligatory destination wedding to attend

Hotel is average at best. Bar area consists of lobby and one small outdoor bar area. Music levels are loud. Loud as in 90-97 dB loud. Best you be able to lip read because conversation is not possible. This ultimately was the final impression we left with. Too loud, uncomfortable as a result and not enough other mitigating factors to compensate. Food was as expected for a mid range resort. Not stellar but adequate. Staff were friendly enough. Grounds were ok. The shows were simply awful. All that and we could say it was what it was. The inability to sit with friends and have a drink and conversation ANYWHERE at a bar area at night was simply disappointing. This is a family place with kids club and a fairly mixed age range not billed as a head banging spring break place. However it seems the true business of this hotel is wedding events. One after another, 3-4 a day. So I would take a pass if you don’t have to suffer this place as a result of an obligatory wedding. Best to plan on excursions to Cancun for dinner and drinks and consider the all inclusive aspect a write off if you want to have a pleasant vacation. Oh and the regular daily police ATV raids in full commando gear on the beach chasing the guys selling drugs do nothing for the experience. Resort control of property access would do far more to control this and result in less personal items going missing. We saw a steady stream of non- resort, non-guest personnel wandering through loungers on the beach. Yeah nothing like a Zilara .

Wonderful trip

We have several issues with the room, for example: the shower draining plumbing, lost of the balcony lights, the out-of-battery door locker. The hotel responded and repair quickly, but within 5 days staying, the quality of the room is kind of disapointing. Some renovation is definitely necessary for the rooms.

Star camp Is the Best for the kids very qualified and professional staff with many funny activities all day in all Places all over the hotel they loved It that gives you as mom and dad a lot of confidence

Great service and overall good value

We attended this resort as part of a wedding group, so we didn't choose the hotel. The service was excellent in general. The room left something to be desired (I think they are renovating soon?) - the bathroom counter marble(?) was all cracked and broken. My main complaint about the hotel is the elevator - if I stay here again I will definitely stay in one of the separate villas (easier access) and not the main large building. One of the three elevators was out of service the entire trip, so there were two elevators available to service hundreds of rooms. They were busy, to say the least. Every time we were in the elevator, everyone was complaining about the elevator - it was a bonding experience with other travelers, LOL. We were there as a family of 4 (two kids age 7 and 9). Despite the elevator, it was overall a great trip for all of us and very family friendly. My kids didn't like the Star Camp, otherwise I would have loved to use that more (I think my 9 year old found it too babyish - it would be great for kids 4-6ish). It is quite loud at night (our room patio looked on to the pool area) but we were always so tired from the daily activities that we had no problem falling asleep despite the noise. The proximity to the beach is perfect. The waves are a little too choppy in this area for snorkling or anything like that, but my kids enjoyed playing in the waves. The buffet was decent (great for the kids) and the one restaurant we went to (the Hibachi grill) was excellent. Overall I think it is good value for an all inclusive.

Not that good

The food was pretty poor. Most of the buffet items were cold and the specialty restaurants were average at best. Cocktails were either average or undrinkable. There has to be better options to stay at
