My husband and I booked a honeymoon suite for our babymoon. Check-in took a little bit longer than expected. COVID-testing was a little confusing. We scheduled it upon arrival and were to receive an email confirmation for the time. We never received an email confirmation. Luckily, we returned to the concierge and was able to confirm our testing time. Our room was on the 4th floor with no elevators; the front desk asked if I wanted to change rooms considering I was 7 months pregnant at the time but I declined. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and overwater villas. We were also close to the pool and we loved both our bed in the room and the one our balcony. Our jacuzzi didn't work so maintenance had to come and repair it. The best part of our room was the outdoor shower! I used it every day. We enjoyed the food, especially the elotes! We even liked the Peruvian restaurant. After dinner, my husband and I would venture to the bar/lounge and play pool while listening to music. I liked that we were able to make song requests. Regarding entertainment, there were yoga, water fitness, and even salsa classes. At times, I was the only person in the class but I still had fun. We got roped in for the timeshare presentation which unfortunately took more than 3 hours of our morning. It included a tour of the overwater bungalows, which are nice, but not sure if they are worth the extra costs. We had a very early morning flight so having room service available at 4 am was beneficial. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation with some activities but not the loud party atmosphere, this is the place for you.
El Dorado Maroma.......Service Great..Location&Beach Not Worth the Expense!

Its been 8 years since we encompassed this resort and after trying many others, this one will not give you the experience you want. First....the service, food and especially the staff are the best, none better. From butlers to wait staff they are the nicest people you would want at a resort. Big shout outs to Jose and Oscar the butlers....we asked, they answered....keep these guys around. Paulo at Ricks Bar......thanks for the variety and over the top attitude. "Big D" at Bar M, beach and just about everywhere....you are a delight. And to start each day....Mariella and Karoly for your hugs and sunrise smiles that made it a JOY to be there. There are many, many others.
But for the location and beach.....its a small resort with limited eating and locations(two were closed all week). Food was great but you never got a variety of eateries. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk from your room to a restaurant, beach or event(not like El Dorado Royale) and you actually felt closed in unless you decided to go off resort property. While there is a seaweed problem in Quintana Roo, its not the resorts fault but they make a valiant effort to clean it up. Maroma beach is advertised to be listed in the top 10 anywhere but not pertain to here. Bottom growth makes it unpleasant to even go in the water and expired beach preservation "pillows" should be taken out of the water.
All in all........there are many other resorts on the Maroma coast to experience.
