Great staff and great beaches

y s on Feb 03, 2023

I spent my holidays in hotel Trip because is one of the most wonderful place in Cayo Coco to be. I have been in love of their staff since the first time I went. I must to recognize particularly the way that Cecilia cares the children in the Miniclub area. The food is good and its beaches are great. I look forward to repeat my visit. One of my place in the world.

Return to Tryp after a few years - go with reasonable expectations

Bendie68 (Burlington, Canada) on Feb 03, 2023

I returned to Tryp after visiting other Cayo Coco resorts in the past several years. It’s the first time I’ve been back since 2016. I travelled solo. Very safe resort. I had previously visited this resort about 10 times up until 2016. The resort was restored after the hurricane in 2017 so I thought I would give it a try. I was given a “renovated” room in block 7 and based on reviews I had reasonable expectations. Please keep in mind that this is not a 4 Star resort. Pros - wonderful staff. Thank you to my long time friends Arelys and Gelly for taking care of me and making my stay comfortable - the first week of December is always a wonderful time to travel in December if you’re just going to relax - the resort was quiet and most mornings I had the entire quiet pool to myself… which was the highlight of my stay Which was lovely. In the afternoon, I went to the bigger pool, and it was very quiet. - great drinks in lobby bar - room was quiet for the most part and clean for the most part (no bugs at all) - loves the beach bar - great lobster place a 5 mins walk away - nice a la cartes - nice beach when it’s not windy Cons - The resort is dated and needs work, which is being done. Uneven pathways, and lack of lighting at night (recommend to not wear heels) - no top sheet on bed - Super loud AC unit in the room - Water in shower was a mere trickle - Water leaking behind toilet - Water damage to ceiling in bathroom - Lights in bathroom had a strobing effect - Toilet stopped working several times and I was told not to flush between 6 - 7 pm (lol) - TV stopped working (it was storming out) - no one goes to Cuba for the food - I don’t eat meat so loved off lettuce, olives, pumpkin and cheese for lunch. I stopped going for breakfast after my first day as there was nothing for me to eat other than toast. I recommend bringing snacks -Small resort but super LOUD. The pool speaker volume was turned up very loud from 3-6pm. Unfortunately my room was near the speaker. At the same time, the entertainers were practicing so the speakers at the stage were also very loud - competing sounds -- the resort has addressed this since my review - If you’re in block seven be prepared for a lot of noise up until 10pm My suggestions Bring snacks Bring one dollar bills in USD currency for tipping Don’t wear high heels! Go with reasonable expections

We had an amazing time, food was good, beach was amazing. My daughter had especially great time with Muca, from the kids club, she’s very professional, relaxed with kids. Everyone is so friendly. Overall was a great experience for us, will come back for sure next year.

I LOVED?? OUR VISIT!!!

nicolenC8091OM on Feb 02, 2023

First I would like to respond to the people who left the resent bad reviews about this resort...the ones who were there for the wedding. I had the pleasure (??) of meeting you the second we got off the bus...whining and telling us to go to another resort...thanks for showing us your true colors right away so we could make sure we avoided having any further interaction with you during our stay...phew!! It seems like you need to learn a little about traveling to Cuba since you obviously didn't do your research. 1. Do your research before you go on vacation because everyone knows to bring extra rolls of toilet paper wherever you go in Cuba...duh!!! 2. If you are rude to Cubans, they will not take good care of you...based on what I saw of your behaviour...and my extensive experience in restaurants...I wouldn't either. THEY WERE DOING THEIR BEST...and I THINK THE STAFF WAS AWESOME!!!?? 3. You are on an island off of an island!!!?? and even here in Canada we have water main breaks, power outages etc. ETC LOL...the staff did an awesome job of trying to make it ok...its not like they did it on purpose or had any control over it...and obviously were trying to fix it asap...duh! 4. As for the booze I ALWAYS HAD A DRINK IN HAND ????????JUST TO BE CLEAR...THERE WAS ALOT OF BOOZE AVAILABLE...but they were probably saving it for the nice guys...lol ?? and the morning staff made great Spanish coffees. I HAD AN AWESOME TIME!!!! The beach was BEAUTIFUL!!! Best beach I've been on and if I had to choose between Mexico or Cayo Coco Cuba....TRYP Cayo Coco all the way!!! The pool area and beach are pretty much connected...so easy to go back and forth. If you want ocean, a nice long walk, soft sand, and beautiful scenery...this is it!! They also had nice covered beds you could enjoy so you can get a little shade and still be right on the beach. The pool was nice and clean, walk up bar and lots of daily games, foam party ??, archery, exercise classes etc. etc. Perfect for kids and adults! The food at the a la cartes were good!! Every time I've gone to Mexico all inclusives with similar ratings...I ended up eating bread because my stomach would be upset...I felt fine the whole time!!! And you need to get some of the lobster...you pay extra but its delicious...we got some from the cuban and Asian a la cartes. The nightly entertainment was amazing!!! They would start off with a special show for kids. ??Mokka (I hope I'm spelling your name right) has a gift with kids. My daughter and her friend loved her!! She even painted their nails and braided their hair at the kids club. Steve was an awesome MC/ comedian both on stage and around the pool, dude knows how to get people going...kinda like Chris Rock but lives island life 24-7...smooth The dancers put on the most amazing shows!!!...sooooo talented and professional choreography...we were amazed!! Like...wow!! And dance parties every night. Sure, maybe some of the rooms need a little TLC, and the variety of drinks were a little limited because of the problems going on with one of the countries Cuba mainly deals with for supplies (I'll let you figure that one out) I'll admit, but we were only in our rooms to sleep, and again, we always had a drink in hand, and loved the scenery, entertainment was awesome...and yup we will go back for sure! Special shout outs to the following hotel staff...please forgive me if I spell your names wrong Mokka, Steve, Liscel, Georgia (room service), the beach bar/snack shack staff, and our buddy Noberto! Thanks for making our stay awesome!!
