Dangerous hotel, I was robbed inside the room.

It looks like a very nice hotel, but it's not. Not worth it, unless you want to risk being robbed inside the hotel itself. A hotel employee stole 300 dollars from my wallet, which was inside my room, while I was having breakfast. The check-in from the room door indicated its entry while I was having breakfast, but the hotel claims they do not have the check-out from the room and there is no way to prove I was at breakfast. They also claim to have no security cameras in the hallways, which is very simple for a resort. The person in charge of security did not make any effort to access cameras from the elevator or other parts of the establishment, he simply stated that nothing could be done, the tourist goes to rest, but unfortunately returns stressed. I really don't recommend it. Terrible experience.

Another pleasant stay at Acoya

Acoya is our go to place when traveling to curacao, the ambiance is serene, the pools are heavenly. The beds sleep very well. The apartments are very spacey, we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, on the ground-floor which was poolside, the balcony is also very spacious which we like very much.

AC was not working on arrival. No hot water. The owner negotiats dining pricing. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were a large group of people and most of us did not have a pleasant experience. TV service was not good. Very basic but good location with pool

Room for improvement

I have stayed in the past many times at the Acoya. This time a little bit disappointed. The room I stayed in the air conditioning made an irritating constant noise. Lack of service. No lights except of the bathroom and a light nearby the bed went on. No drinking glasses in the whole room. Simple thing that could make a difference. After an hour I upon arrival in the room the maintenance man just opened the door and came in. He came for inspection prior to arrival and showed the list he had. At that time I was already inside. Bad coordination and scheduling.

Very dissapointed!

Unfortunately, my experience at the Acoya hotel was not the way I expected it to be. My husband and I were very disappointed because the service was not ideal. The discount on Food and Beverage as was promised to us when we had booked for the room, was not included in the breakfast. It was too pricey and in our opinion the food was not too good. The bed, especially the pillows were very uncomfortable. The construction next to/at the back of the hotel was loud so we could not relax when we sat outside by the pool. One night when we were watching TV in the living room, the neighbors were discussing loudly which wasn't nice for us as we wanted to stay there to relax. Often, we felt like the staff was not experienced enough in giving information and service. When we went to check out, we informed the staff and the supervisor about our unpleasant experience at the hotel and all they could tell us is that they regret it for us but there was nothing that they could do for us. For the price that we paid, we had expected so much more. So overall, we would not recommend anyone to stay at the hotel.
