Great location but a little noisy

CanuckAlberta (Alberta) on Jun 03, 2022

Enjoyed our stay and the great location with walking distance to many attractions and excellent complimentary breakfast with friendly staff. Only downside is a lot of street noisy from rowdy bars and patrons in the area. If I stayed again I would request west side of hotel and as high a floor as possible.

Great place to stay downtown Halifax

robin c (Woodstock, Canada) on Jun 02, 2022

The breakfast was amazing. Food and staff. Everything was clean there and week maintained. We didn't especially like being one the lowest level as the quality did not seen the same on that level, felt like it was the second rate area. We had made out reservations a long time ago so I wonder if it was because we had a discount rate we were out there? Other than that, it was great. Very close to everything.

Good location, decent botel

mauwa852 (Mississauga, Canada) on May 17, 2022

Centrally located marriott. Breakfast is fine. Minimum amenities which is normal for downtown. Bed rooms are fine. Beds good. Check in was not easy despite having the app membership. Parking is not included. You can walk to most things. Decent pubs restos around

AVOID AT ALL COST _ YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

TheNuttyReviewer (Coboconk, Canada) on May 02, 2022

Surprised this place is a Marriott. Does have a great location in downtown Halifax right next to two bars/pubs - so easy to walk to but also you won't be sleeping much until 300 am due to the noise you can hear until then from the pubs and their patrons. Next issue - the hotel reeks of cooked food and detergent smells. Issue is the suites allow for kitchen like cooking and many guests cook in the rooms and stay for long stays. The hotel ventilation system is not strong and the smells remain. To counter the smell the hotel has resorted to using strong detergent - so they were trying but this just results in a combined odour of detergent. Also the breakfast food was disgusting. The staff were friendly and the hotel looks new on the outside and looks nice - but the main issue of the smell of the rooms and the pub noise all night made this place a no return. You can get almost the same rate across the street the Sutton Place - go there instead.

Combined family / business trip

gaylenoah (Yarmouth, Canada) on Mar 25, 2022

We booked the 2 bedroom/2 bathroom suite and it was perfect for our family of 5. The suite had a fully equipped kitchen with modestly appointed furniture that could be updated.. The convenience of being located right downtown is very appealing to this who wish to see the sights without driving and underground parking well lit and felt secure. The staff was amazing right from the front desk to the breakfast buffet server who made sure the children were given nourishing choices. The noise generated from proximity to late night establishments was heard from our 4 th floor location… enough to be annoying if retiring early. The lack of a pool and full service restaurant limited family relaxation within the hotel.
