This resort is very popular for snorkellers and divers due to a reef located just offshore and great all-inclusive value! The impressive pool combined with a selection of activities make it just right for an unforgettable family vacation.
We travelled to Playa Costa Verde in November of 2019. There were 8 of us in a group. I had stopped going to Cuba because I couldn't eat the food any longer but we went with the group. We were VERY Surprised with the food here. So much variety and lots of cooking stations. There was an omelets station, pasta station, meat station, fish station and desert station plus many more varieties. Everything was fresh and tasty. A big shout out to DUNIA our waitress at the buffet who made of dining experience so fun. She is the best! Hola Dunia! Our room was standard nothing fancy. It was kept very clean throughout the week. The beach is rocky, you will need water shoes. The a la cartes are good especially the Japanese one. The dinner was like a comedy show. They serve Chicken, shrimp, rice and veggies, all saluted on the grill right in front of you. We will return to Playa Costa Verde as soon as we can travel again as we made friends from there and can't wait to see them again.
Excellent Family Holiday! Great facilities and Beautiful Surroundings!

We had travelled to PCV in July 2019 as a family of four with two young kids aged 7 & 5. We initially arrived and had a bit of a wait after long flight and bus journey. The room we were given was fine for our needs. Large wrap around terrace, big bathroom and good size fridge in the room stocked with complimentary water and juice/beer. The room was dated but we found it to be clean and suitable. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and very well kept, common to see the maintenance staff chopping down the coconuts from the trees. Tip the guys and they will open, fill with ice from restaurant/bar -delicious!
The beach was stunning - again tip the beach guys they will sort you out chairs etc, beach bar was also great serving drinks snacks etc. You can book pedalos and catamarans for free, well worth doing kids loved it!
Cheeki in the kids club was a godsend, so warm and friendly and our kids loved going there all the time. It also meant kids were out of the very hot midday sun and we got a wee rest! I would not hesitate to put my kids into cheeki's kids club!
The food - it is what it is. Its cuba, some foods are not available, cola, french fries etc. There is always something you can eat and always a great choice. I have a fussy eater he lived on banana sandwiches at times but quite happy to finish with ice cream every night. The queues at the buffet could be long at peak times and if you went dining later sometimes many of the popular dishes were finished. On a couple of occasions they had to close doors to dining areas as it was too busy. The Al a Carte resturants were all good and we liked the Japanese one the best for food and the experience. Snack bar also good but you could expect a wait at peak times also. We are not really into the entertainment side of things but the pool dancers and singers in the lobby area stood out.
The pool bar was good fun and the guy who is the main man also has his own restaurant, Jesus I think his name was. Pool area could be really busy at peak times, heard many folk complaining that the 'cubans' had took over the place at long weekends, not letting others to bar and filling up bag from dining room. We just pushed in and didn't notice the latter so no issue to us. Good few trips on offer from hotel, swim with dolphins, market, hire old retro cars/taxis or hire the horse and cart rides for short distances. We didnt go on much further trips as we found them to be too hot with the kids.
Check out was a wee bit manic, we had our beach towel stolen and had to pay for it - the lady at reception I found quite rude - apart from her everybody else was great! Rooms cleaned daily, and if you tipped maid, lots of chilled water put in your fridge!
All in all, we had a great holiday! This was our first holiday taking our kids long haul and out of Europe. The food could be a bit bland at times and repetitive but we just accepted it and made the very best of the experience. The pools, staff, beach, and general aura of PCV were excellent!
