Great Location
asaintly1 (Sydney, Australia) on Jun 29, 2022
The Sheraton Waikiki isn’t 5 star, but it is a great central hotel that is walking distance all around Waikiki. It’s pretty soulless and busy, the lobby is a thoroughfare. Pool is well positioned with a lovely view. Talking view, from the room, it’s as good as any hotel I’ve stayed at in Hawaii. I was travelling as a couple with no kids on this trip so changes perspective on things. I probably would have rated it higher if i had the kids.. then again, It is my opinion the Hilton Hawaiian would be a better choice.(with kids)
Same hotel, Starwood to Bonvoy, definitely felt like a down grade

Stayed here as top tier Starwood elite and had a great experience with an upgrade to a huge suite with two balconies over looking the Pacific without asking. Free full breakfast as well back in the days. Very friendly staff too. Now, with Bonvoy and as a Titanium elite. The only upgrade was what SNA got me. Asked about a suite on the day of check-in, was told they were sold out, but they were still selling a couple of different type of suites on the website. Staff didn't seem to be cheerful and welcoming at all. Breakfast is now continental only and had to pay to get hot breakfast. Lounge is still closed. Starwood used to comp full breakfast if the lounge is closed. I felt I have been Bonvoyed for sure!
