View and Location Can't be Beat But Not Worth the Price

We've been coming to Turtle Bay for over at decade and were excited to check-out their most recent remodel. The remodel of the common spaces was well done but that's where it fell short. The rooms are basically the same as before. Furnishings are terrible for $600+/night. Nothing matches, some of the furniture was damaged even though it's supposed to be new as of 2 months ago. The headboards looks like there is supposed to be lights in it that were missing. No USB port or phone charger to be found, only a small, outdated alarm clock. There were not even luggage racks when we checked into the room. I asked for a modem because my husband had to work and the Wifi wasn't solid enough to be streaming videos and the staff couldn't accommodate. Our bathroom had tons of mold. The food was decent but not worthy of the price. I understand that with COVID they are checking cards and test results but to have to check-in at the lobby or walk around the back of the resort every time was super annoying and could be difficult for some guests. They should have someone posted at the side door. The housekeepers were lovely as always. We understand that they have done away with the discount for Kamaina which made us sad for locals. Many cannot afford to stay there now and this resort has always been a vacation spot for them in the past. Will we come back? Probably for the location and the amenities and because there are no other options on the North Shore, but this resort can do far better.

Not Sure What Happened - Fabulous Location

It was a 5 Star Resort. Turtle Bay was our go to destination for years. After the remodel and Covid-19, the prices are ridiculous and service is not the same. I can imagine this price increase is due to the remodel and loss of revue. Camry is still by far the best desk coordinator we've seen, unfortunately due to the price increase from $189 - $250 a night to $560 Resort View or 603 Ocean View we shall search for a new resort. Beautiful location

Best choices of restaurants at Turtle Bay Resort

Of the three restaurants at Turtle Bay, Roy’s was wonderful and the best. As usual, the seafood was delicious. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. Lei Lei was surprisingly good. Because of Covid, it was takeout at a table on the golf course where we enjoyed the sunset. That made it quite fun. And the poke was excellent! Alaia, in the hotel, was disappointing in too many ways to list without sounding too negative. It’s a pretty place for sure and we had high expectations but all of my drinks and dishes at dinner were mediocre or worse.

Turtle bay excellence

Beautiful hotel with excellent service. Family and adult infinity pools with 2 water slides. Bikes and Segway’s available. Horseback riding also available. Food was delicious and Roy’s beach house restaurant is adjacent to the hotel. Beautiful views, comfortable rooms.

Great location, failure to execute!

So far very unimpressed. We have stayed here many times, and they just went through a remodel. It’s pretty but the hotel is NOT functioning well. I needed some sandals and the shops that close at 6:00 were already closed at 5:30. Not all of the shops are even open. We parked out front and checked in, the valets asked if we were self parking, i said yes as we like to have access to our car. After checking in, we drove to the parking lot and it was closed. So we had to go back to valet again. Checkin was a nightmare, only 1 person working and it took over 30 minutes for the process. Nobody at the restaurant even knows where or what is available for breakfast. The main restaurant is serving heavy French food for breakfast…hello I’m in Hawaii!!! The location is beautiful as always, but nowhere the service and experience we have had in the past.
