Not good for families

ilovesfwater (san francisco) on Jun 17, 2021

This hotel is not ideal for families with young kids. After one day, we checked out and into another hotel across the opposite end of the strip where it was much more family friendly and oriented. Our first night at the Alohilani was extremely noisy with doors slamming all hours of the night and throughout our one day, the smell of marijuana was very apparent on our entire floor. The room wasn't very clean either considering our current pandemic. Plus the kid pool was still under construction. If you do have children, I suggest looking for a hotel that has amenities for children and one that comes with a complimentary breakfast for less.

Good location, disappointing services

516crystalp on Jun 16, 2021

My husband stayed at Alohilani Resort for our anniversary for 6 nights. While the location and ambience were nice, we would choose to stay somewhere else if we return to Oahu. Positives: + Clean, Modern room + View (ocean view) was beautiful + Friendly staff + Great location across the street from Waikiki Beach and near shopping/restaurants + Pretty infinity pool + Beach towels available for the beach and the pool - $45 per day resort fee for limited services provided. I do not know why this is charged. - Room was not serviced each day "due to covid" - even though most restrictions are lifted. For example: The bed was only made for us once during the stay. - Trash was removed only twice during our 6 night stay. - We had to request additional coffee pods, toilet paper, and facial tissue multiple times. - No information was in the room about area attractions, restaurants, shopping etc. - Photos of the pool area are very misleading. It is actually quite a small pool and very few chaise lounges for such a large property. There are cabanas for rent, but they cost from $200+ per day. - Restaurants had limited hours and some were still closed (due to covid?). - "Concierge" was actually a timeshare salesperson. We were very uncomfortable to discover this when we sought help booking tours, only to be given a pushy sales pitch. - We attempted to contact the front desk on numerous occasions, only to have nobody answer. This happened on multiple days and various times of day.
