Nice location and staff, but nickel and dime on amenities
jasonsL5699NM (Kent, Washington) on May 18, 2022
This place has a nice location, next to the beach and not far from Front St and Kaanapali Golf Course and the Whalers Village. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The pool area was quite crowded with mainly young/middle age families with kids or retirees but we rented a canaba for the day along the lazy river pool which was quite nice. The units themselves are individually owned, so they often get rented out a-la airbnb style. Would I stay here again? I'm not sure I would for a number of reasons. For example, they stick RFID tags in the towels and then charge you $20 each if you don't promptly return them. One of the doors in the container where you get the towels was not closed all the way, so it would've been really easy for us to not give it back and the previous user get charged. Also, if the towels somehow get discolored after you wash them in your washer/dryer unit you incur a charge. If you want housecleaning services, you have to pay extra for it. It just felt like you were nickel and dimed for everything, and as much as we had to pay to rent the unit for a week, at least give us housecleaning services as part of the deal. Not sure what their deal with all the towel penalties was either.
Excellent spot with some caveats

Resort is in a spectacular location and the amenities are nice. Caters to all ages. There are same things we had to learn the hard way, like how to use the air conditioning and access to the garage which would have been much less stressful if they were explained, or even mentioned, during check in. Would most likely stay here again now that I know some of the resort “secrets”
