Great stay except for one thing...

chelana (Portland, Oregon) on Jul 02, 2022

We stayed for four nights in two different one-bedroom units. Our first unit was on the ground floor with a pretty view of a garden area. Very spacious, beautiful finishes, high-end appliances. We would have cheerfully stayed there the whole trip if our entire unit hadn't been overrun with these nasty biting gnats on Day 2. We called the front desk and explained that the room had become uninhabitable. They sent the engineer to investigate and after seeing the bugs all over the beds, the walls, the bathroom mirrors, the kitchen, and the couch, he agreed. Management had us moved to a blessedly bug-free third-floor unit with a balcony and a gorgeous mountain view within the hour, and they gave us a $200 credit for our trouble. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The pools were great - I especially appreciated the quiet pool (there are a LOT of kids here). Having Duke's on-site was so convenient. The "feral" cats were an unexpected delight. (Any cat that comes up to you and demands a belly rub isn't *that* feral.) Well-equipped fitness rooms. The resort is within walking distance of a shopping center with a grocery store and adjacent to a food truck pod. We would come back anytime.

Family vacation in Maui

J8687LVmikes (Brunswick, Maine) on Jul 01, 2022

Excellent resort, clean spacious rooms, friendly staff, convenient location. Outstanding snorkeling and diving right off the beach. Dukes has excellent food and service. Scotty at Dukes is super attentive and provides great service. Heather in concierge is truly amazing, personable, gives great advice and helped plan the most amazing experiences during our stay in both Maui and Kauai, one of the nicest people we met. Would totally visit again , best family vacation! !

Stayed for a week in June family of four. Two bedroom unit. Overall great experience. On site coffee shop concierge and restaurant. Valet parking. Beach in front of unit excellent. Good snorkeling. Our unit came with beach chairs and umbrella which were useful. Our first time in Maui turned out to be great location good access to restaurants activities etc. Beautiful views from large lanai. Upscale type resort. Great ambience. Nice facility.

Wonderful Experience with Amazing Villa

Seanpit on Jun 28, 2022

We stayed in the Luana Garden Villa, #7A, and it was amazing! The villa was large, modern, and beautiful with a garage and an extra parking space. It had easy access to the beach and all of the amenities of the Hanua Kai Resort. The manager, Mrs. Feresteh, was also very helpful and had everything ready for us as soon as we arrived. She even stopped by to make sure everything was going well for us. I particularly enjoyed the lanai just outside the back of the condo that opened up with sliding glass doors onto a large lawn area with a nice view - kinda like an outside living room along with a grill! In short, we had a fabulous time and will most certainly go again!

2nd Visit and I will return

krdorsh on Jun 21, 2022

My husband and I stayed here for 10 nights on our honeymoon in a studio. Don't knock the studio if you are a party of 2 (or even have small children) until you try it! It is very spacious and the lanai adds to your living space. Sure, this is a family resort but we had no issues staying here as honeymooners. We prefer the beach to the pool, however they did have a dedicated adult pool that was quiet. There was great snorkeling right off the beach. We loved having Dukes to eat at right on the property. We did not have any issues with parking, but we also preferred to be in before sunset so we could watch the sunset on the beach. The resort was close to all our activities and dining we wanted to do. The only thing we had to drive more than 15 mins for was the road to Hana. We will not hesitate to stay here again when we return.
