Lots of Potential, Still covid restrictions impacting experience

We went for 5 days in early June 2021. It was crowded. This place is a family resort so if you aren't going with a family, don't go here. This review is given with the caveate that there are still covid restrictions in place which negatively impacted our experience.
ROOM: All resorts do this, but it is infuriating. There is a difference between "partial ocean view, ocean view, and ocean front." The website shows ocean front rooms and I was led to believe that ocean view would have a direct view of the ocean. From our kitchen sink, the view was over the tops of trees and the ocean was far away, between two buildings. They will say the view is from the balcony (lanai) which required we be fully out on the balcony to have a decent view of the ocean. I asked for a different room and was told that ONLY the 3 bedroom condos were ocean front. I was disappointed but they all do it. The sunset was blocked by the neighboring hotels from our room which was a bummer.
Our bathroom smelled like pee, despite proper cleaning. I think there was a crack or something in the toilet itself or the pee stain/smell was in the calking around the base. I called and asked for it to be cleaned and they cleaned it immediately, but it didn't resolve the problem.
POOL: The pools are great with close access to the beach. (Some resorts the beach is very far from the pools.) However, seating at the pool was a challenge. The hotel was at full capacity but the HOA has limited the number of pool chairs to be 30%. They're supposed to monitor people holding chairs that are empty for over an hour but security is short staffed and wasn't. I called security when a woman was holding 7 chairs, ALL MORNING, in the only shade near the large pool. It took 3 calls for security to come by. I spoke with them and they were very kind, advising that the HOA owners are limiting the pool chairs to 30% despite that Hawaii restrictions were at 50% at the time. If the HOA Is limiting the chairs, the HOA should be limited to 30% capacity in their condos which they rent!
Cabanas are sold out for months because of the chair problem.
We rented through Costco so the room we were in did not provide beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc. like those rented through other sites provided.
Duke's: It was delicious but booked for months out so we had to put our name in at 3:30 pm and got seated right at 5 pm.
This property is good for families who have a desire to cook. If you don't want to cook dinners or drive off site for dinners, this isn't the place for you.
You can’t go wrong.

We had an amazing time in the villas. The villas were well equipped and like a home away from home. Very spacious and clean. They were eight of us in the group and We had plenty of space.? The resort offered many pools, steps to the ocean, a restaurant and a Convenience? store/cafe. The property was well-maintained. We were in walking distance to the grocery store, the food trucks, and other eating establishments. We were also only minutes away from the luau at the Westin. My family is already looking Booking a vacation at the same resort for next year?.
