Stayed in Kihei Surfside 311 for 14 days. When I made the booking on the phone with Ali'i Resorts management company, the booking agent said the pool would be "closed for repairs" at the property. I would not have minded this at all. In reality, however, this meant that the entire lawn area, pool deck, and pool - the entire length of the building in front of every unit's lanai, were under major, LOUD construction Monday through Saturday from EARLY 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. This information should have been clearly disclosed before booking. I would not have reserved the unit had I known about this.
Also, before I booked, the reservations agent assured me that an early check in "should be no problem at ALL if the room has been empty a couple of days before you arrive." The room was in fact empty for a couple of days before I arrived, however, the room was not ready the morning of my arrival and my calls to check on possibly checking in early were answered with rudeness, accusations of skirting their "early check-in fees, and gross unprofessionalism. Sad, that once I had pre-paid for this lengthy stay, all the kindness, service, and Aloha disappeared from Ali'i Resorts management. I recommend instead booking through a hospitable, professional agency.
Feels like home but with beautiful sunsets everyday

We found Kihei Surfside several years ago when looking for a location on the ocean that had easy access to sand and snorkeling. We also found friendly vacationers, condo owners and property managers that make you feel right at home, be it around the barbecue grill or during the larger gathering at sunset.
You can see from the photos the view from the condo sweeps across the shoreline which is quite unusual to get, and then you can just grab your snorkel gear and go around the front of Mana Kai Maui next door to enter the coral reef from the long sandy beach (or just take a long walk down to the resort area in Wailea).
