Used to be our go-to.....NEVER again

lesliefL9834ZF on Feb 03, 2023

Sad, almost spooky. Most shops and restaurants closed or limited. Casino dark and spooky. Years ago it was the absolute best. Now, having been sold, it has been pretty much gutted of all that was fun. It appears to be just hanging on until they find another buyer.

I know it’s cheap - but don’t do it!

Alex C (Calgary, Canada) on Feb 03, 2023

I don’t even know where to start. 1. Check in takes 30+ minutes if you’re lucky. The line was consistent through my stay and not an exception. 2. The common areas have noticeably less air circulation than any other hotel/building and you feel like each breath is coming through 4 cigarettes. There must be decades of smoke baked into those chairs and carpets. 3. The staff seem overworked, underpaid and sick of dealing with the same complaints from everyone. 4. The rooms are dilapidated and stained. And the worst part… Our rooms smelled like someone was making a bonfire next to the bed. Pure wood smoke and ash. It was so bad it hit you in the face when you opened the door. We had permanent headaches and scratchy throats and of course they were “full” and couldn’t move us. The venting system must run through a kitchen with a wood oven or something. Seriously just spend a bit more and be comfortable. Free is too much for the Rio.

Best in class & worth every $$$ spent

selvanperry (Toronto, Canada) on Feb 03, 2023

I've already experienced my stay with other brand name surrounded Hotels. But Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino is one of a Kind my 1st stay with them & the identity of the Hotel is amazing & mesmerizing especially after sun goes down the Red stripes of LED lights illumination totally a different identity. Very user friendly front office staff namely Michelle K checked me in via VIP counter. There was a big lineup which indicates very high frequency of check ins. I requested a room near elevator she was very friendly & offered that selection. Moreover, she handed me a hotel map as well as the list of available restaurants. The rooms are very very spacious & very clean but the bathroom is clean & nice but bit old. AC & heating is perfect. My room was facing the mountain side & its amazing. Hotel corridor is very quiet elevators spacious & very fast not much wait time. The Casinos so colorful & busy all the time the Korean BBQ is fantastic. Finally UBER pick up drop off is very convenient. Too bad it was a short stay 3 nights but I will make another trip shortly because it's very affordable. Well, overall my stay with Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino stay was very memorable & pleasant & so relaxing atmosphere. Worth every $$$ spent. I'm jealous......

Old and dirty

Randy A on Feb 03, 2023

Beds were ok. Rest of room very old and filthy. Didn’t look like furniture had ever been cleaned. Was supposed to be gold but materials on furniture black with stain on top. Carpet was just as bad. Bring flip flops to where on carpet.

Bait and Switch! Beware

T5697NRtonya (Gold River, California) on Feb 03, 2023

On Expedia, Rio shows these fabulous rooms. Not sure where they are. What a dump. Check in also took over 90 minutes because their kiosks don’t work. One Starbucks in the whole dump. Huge lines! Beware!!!
