Safe Haven in Middle of Chaos

kayzuke (Anchorage, Alaska) on Apr 06, 2024

While staying at the Villa Del Palmar resort on Danzante Bay, there was a horrible bus accident which closed off the highway and blocked our return from our time exploring the town of Loreto. We were brought to the Villa Group sister hotel, Hotel Santa Fe, and after some back and forth with shuttle and highway patrol communication, we were given a reduced room rate for the night as we would not be able to get back to our resort. The main lobby was clean, organized and inviting and was attached to their restaurant, Casa Mia, and a small convenience store. Once you go through the doors into the back side of the hotel, you are greeted by an open ceiling atrium with pool, gorgeous Spanish-style winding stairs, lounge chairs, and the beautiful sky and stars. We were on the 4th floor and did require assistance getting into the room door as it was a sliding glass door with a funky lock, but otherwise the door functioned and had a curtain to provide privacy. The room was small, twp twin beds, small kitchenette with supplies, small bathroom with toiletries and towels, and AC/ceiling fan. The decor is dated and the room is not comparable to the VDP resort, but the linens were clean, bed comfortable, and the respite from the chaos of the night much needed. Staff were helpful and gracious in keeping us updated on how things were progressing between highway patrol and our shuttle guide Wild Loreto (thank you Jared!). While I would not choose to stay at the hotel for my vacation, for an overnight stay or day trip, this would be perfect. Located on one of the main town streets and easily walkable to eateries, shops and activities.

An enjoyable and relaxing stay!

We had a very relaxing stay for two nights at the Santa Fe. It is a safe, 10 minute walk to the town square. The enclosed courtyard was buffered from wind and a great place to relax by the pool and hot tub. Room was large and very nice. Laura at the front desk was very helpful with any questions and transport. We loved the food at the restaurant - try the sea bass.

This was an excellent option for us!! We planned just 1 day at this hotel and it became 4 days, this is a great option if you come to Loreto! Front desk crew was really helpful, the restaurant was delicious and an amazing service too!……………………..

Lux in Loreto

Cindy C (Los Gatos, California) on Mar 03, 2024

Really enjoyed staying at this lovely hotel--everything was incredibly clean from the common areas to our room. We felt very safe and well taken care of during our first trip to Baja Sur. We had a spacious ocean-view room with a big terrace. Loved the marble floors, fluffy towels and great bedding. The staff was helpful and we appreciated Eder's assistance in setting up a morning ocean cruise where we saw blue whales, dolphins and sea lions plus had a ceviche picnic. It was an incredible experience. If you are a light sleeper, opt for the rooms in the back of the hotel as the locals do love to drive their cars at night on the main ocean strip with loud music.

I would stay here again

Camper12185759605 on Sep 21, 2023

The staff was super friendly, the rooms were cleaned even though it had dank (moist) odor to the room. But if you left your door open for a little while the smell was gone or run the AC. The bed was a little too soft for my liking, but I enjoyed my stay overall. I would stay here again in the future. It's not luxury, but it will do.
