A nice hotel

Gulsev T on Apr 17, 2024

Spacious clean and efficient rooms. I travelled for business and get every feature you may need. Only the door of my closet was not closing, I needed to place something to keep it closed so the lights of the closet turned off. Generally it is a very nice city hotel.

This Hotel Needs Less Marble and Better Wifi- No Zoom Capability in the Rooms

CP530 (New York City, New York) on Apr 17, 2024

This hotel went through a huge renovation and it is beautiful, if you like the modern and cold style. I fear it will be dated soon. They put money into marble, but not into services! This hotel only has one French restaurant, which is great but quite specific. No bistro, no place for a lighter meal. There is a nice spa in the basement, so very dark. Why in the basement in this day and age? The wifi is HORRIBLE. My Zoom meetings were constantly cutting out. This is unacceptable in this day and age. No one can hear me on calls. This is an old building with thick walls. They should have used less marble and sent more money on wifi boosters. Don't stay here is you are on business. It is impossible to get anything done and the price for rooms is very high.

is gold worth it? naht here.

D S on Apr 14, 2024

I hate to say this because we always stay at fairmont, we pay the premium for "gold" which works out to $780 per room per day, this time around it wasn't worth it at all. 1. Hotel seems empty, not a lot of traffic which might lend to why the experience was poor. 2. We been to many hotels, I get it... there is a prestige working for a fine hotel, but there was a certain chip with some of the staff. This is foreshadowing what's to come. 3. Room is great, just what we expected. Nice and big, spacious and the welcoming. Washrooms great. 4. The gold comes with breakfast and canapés throughout the day, there is nothing much to it. It was pretty basic, even as basic as the holiday inn. Our experience at all other fairmonts have been amazing, great food, great orders, great service from preparing a drink etc. Here they put out the breakfast and 1 person mans the whole gold area which says enough, there wasn't a wow at breakfast and there wasn't a wow throughout. We could have went out for breakfast and saved $400 x 2 rooms on the premium we paid for getting some nuts and candies in the afternoon and some cheese and salami in the evening. 5. We ordered room service - why is there a $7,00 charge to bring up food to your room and then an expectation to pay a tip on top of that. Hate surprise charges, I am a good tipper but a service charge to bring it up the elevator?~! 6. The staff on the gold side were great as they usually are, there was a lady who always had a nice smiley face on and inviting. The gentleman in the afternoon also great, offered to get us some creative drinks and really tried to get us to try everything. 7. Lumeire resto - for such an elaborately decorated spot they have a very short menu. Food was okay. 8. Spa - great, but one thing. When we booked they told us if we go with gold we will get 15% off spa services that was not acknowledged at checkout. I am not one to make a scene but was very disappointed, and then in some swift words they said gold is just room upgrade nothing special. LOL. Our fault for spending the additional amount, that being said we were torn between the four seasons and the fairmont, we have always been "fairmont" people but this time around i think we will rethink that going forward. I think we keep comparing it other experiences when reality is these are franchises, that being said we should have come in person checked out the gold area before handing over money and feeling a bit ripped. I will say there is potential, building, rooms, decor all amazing but I am was paying for service above the cost of the room and for that I did not find value. We did see the owner of the hotel pass by at one point, he was engaging with a new staff member(she was great) I over heard him say all the right things about the hotel mission but I don't think think the rest of the staff really embody that. for reference we have stayed at the fairmont in - chicago / toronto/ banff/ downtown calgary

We felt welcomed throughout our stay!

R0bertus (Seattle, Washington) on Apr 12, 2024

We stayed for 3 nights and had an amazing experience from the moment we checked in to our departure. All of the staff members were so attentive, friendly and helpful: Richard at the front desk, Manuel, Bella, and Janneth at the lounge, and Abram at the concierge to name a few. When we checked in, our room wasn’t available and we would have been happy hanging out by the pool, but Richard kindly upgraded us to a bigger room that was available at the time. Not only they were very attentive, they went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and ensure that our stay was as pleasant as possible. For example, when we came back to the hotel after one of the long days, Manuel asked if we wanted some dessert for our children. We politely declined because they had given some to us the day before :) During one of our visits to the lounge, he asked if we wanted him to change the channel to Disney or Nickelodeon for our children. The property is very clean, has spacious rooms (each with a balcony), and great amenities. The location is convenient, across the street from an outdoor mall with good restaurants, coffee shops, and a grocery store; pretty central for those who want to explore different parts of LA like Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills. Highly recommended!

Beautiful hotel

Sol S on Apr 09, 2024

I stayed at the Fairmont for one night. I didn't have the best experience checking in with the front desk. I booked my room at a special rate and I was told they would not honor my rate unless I had the physical card I booked it with. That was very inconvenient because no where in the confirmation email did it state that. I had the card information, however the front desk manager insisted they needed a picture. I had to wait 20 minutes to get a picture and a room key even though I had all my information. The rest of my experience was a 10/10. The room, spa and gym was very clean. I love that they offer Le Labo products. The bathtub in the room was definitely my favorite experience to relax and recharge. The staff was very friendly, Jose from in room dining was sweet and catering. He noticed I was jet lagged and adjusted the table as close to the bed as possible. Adrian Gomez saw me exploring the hotel and offered a tour which I greatly appreciated, since it was my first time visiting. I had breakfast and lunch at the Lumiere. Enrique , Luis and Eduardo took great care of me. They were all very kind and genuine. Luis the manager went above and beyond with recommendations, not only for food but also places to see in the city. I left very happy thanks to their lovely staff. Thank you so much everyone! I look forward to my next visit
