Bland resort on the pacific; fantastic cleaning lady for my room
O334QFscottd on May 10, 2025
The resort is bland. I am all for them trying to get you to a presentation, but after I declined they called me in my room a few days later to try again. That is ridiculous. They were constantly working to make repairs in the room next to me, so lots of banging and even cut the hot water at one point without warning. It was very windy during my visit and the sliding glass doors weren't built to handle the wind. They constantly banged all night long. Location is on the pacific side which is a far different vibe than the Medano Beach side. The rooms show it is an older property. The check in counter and area sort of reminds me of a rental car counter. The reason I gave the rating of a 3 versus a lower score is because of Nancy, the lady who cleaned my room each day. She didn't speak English and that is okay because we were able to figure it out and communicate. She always was very friendly and came to the room with a big smile and a greeting of buenos dias! She was very thorough and probably the best room cleaning person I have ever had in Cabo.
Comfortable stay!

I've stayed at Playa Grande and have friends who are owners at Lands End and opted to stay at Solmar due to my budget, and it gave me the chance to experience all 3 properties. Although the rooms are dated, I can say that they are comfortable and well taken care of. We stayed in building D on the 2nd floor with a balcony that faced the ocean. I loved our view! There were 10 of on this trip, one couple stayed at Lands End and the other 3 couples stayed at Playa Grande. I can say that the service and food is comparable across all properties. All in all, it was a great stay and I enjoyed my time at Solmar.
