Great stay at Royal Decameron Los Cabos

This vacation was a great experience and we will be coming back next year. Pros: 1. Great price point and location for what you are receiving. 2. Much quieter than larger hotels, very little chair tagging and no lineups anywhere. But, our stay was between spring break groups who I was told by other guests made their vacation unbearable as their drunken, rude behaviour went unchecked by hotel staff. Be careful when you go! 3. The staff are constantly cleaning and made sure you had what ever you needed. 4. The Luna restaurant's menu and pool/beach side location are amazing for lunch and dinners. We only ate at the buffet for breakfast. Reservations are easy on the hotel app. If we stayed 2 weeks it would be nice if the menu rotated, but on the plus side we had the vegetarian pasta 4 times and each time it was made differently. 5. Rooms are dated with a bit of deferred maintenance but clean. Bathrooms are small but very usable. The wooden deck chairs for the rooms are the nicest I have ever seen. 6. The adult pool area is very nice with a great view. It was also the most popular area and routinely went over its 28 person limit making it more of a back yard frat party. Cons: Other than points 1 and 3, all these items are easy to fix if Managements decided to fix them. 1. If you have any mobility issues or a hard time with stairs, this hotel is NOT for you. 2. There are no pool area chairs if you have issues laying down on lounge chairs. 3. If you go to be early or are a light sleeper, bring a white noise machine as this hotel is not soundproof, made worse by its small size. Noise travels up, down and sideways. All the night time shows and karaoke sound like they are in your room. 4. The staff remedy any issue you bring to them, but the point is that you have to constantly bring issues to them such as can you find me white wine, why isn't my room cleaned, why didn't I get my extra pillows, why don't you have fries or pizza today, why don't I have hand towels etc. 5. If you are going to charge for in room coffee supplies, make sure the coffee you can take back to your room is regularly restocked with cups, coffee, cream, etc. 6. The hotel needs to invest in basic things like buffet heat lamps, more pillows, towels, beach towels, drink cups, toiletries, etc. The buffet food was warm at best. You get 3 different types of cups with the same drink at Luna. They are constantly looking for plastic pool cups, and scarily sort of rewashing them to pour you drink at the pool. The bars routinely run out of white and red wine and yes even tequila. We only had moisturizer in the room once. The lobby bar opened late every day as the poor bartender was frantically looking for supplies to open. 7. The smoking/vaping ban in Mexico does not exist as people routinely smoke on their decks and vape in the lobby. Also, don't bother with long pants for dinner at Luna, no one seems to care. 8. There is no poolside or beach drink service. This would be a nice addition. 9. The mini bar fridge is empty, never seen that before. 10. Finally, as with all Mexican hotels, I will never understand why the staff blasts latino techno pop, heavy metal music, etc. to a group of 50+ couples who are all asking for Neil Diamond, Abba, Nickelback, Garth Brooks, Jimmy Buffett, Kansas etc.

Great staff, amenities and service! It’s on the quieter side of Cabos which is great for someone looking into a relaxing vacation rather than partying. The hotel has 5 bars and 2 restaurants. Food at the buffet style restaurant can be better but overall was pretty good. The second restaurant called Luna has an amazing dinner menu! The hotel can use a bit of updates but overall a great experience! A HUGE shoutout to all the amazing staff memebers. They are AMAZING! My partner and I felt welcomed at all times.
