Worst Filthy Hotel - don’t go.
(Los Angeles, California)
Jul 25, 2021
We were coming to a family reunion in Mazatlan, and our family booked this hotel due to its family friendly vibe. Unfortunately this hotel was the worst decision ever. We actually left early and booked another hotel due to their service and carelessness.
Service- The lobby has no AC and their check in process is slow. It took us 1.5 hours to check in! Not waiting in line, but actually with the service person. Signing papers and him selling us on things.
They don’t have WiFi in the building so you have to pay $25 usd for 3 days of WiFi offered through their provider and it’s not reliable, by the second day I had no WiFi at all.
Cleanliness- the room was dusty, smelled of mildew, and I’m pretty sure they hadn’t washed our sheets because I could smell an odor. When I asked them change our sheets they didn’t and I asked for hand soap and they didn’t bring us any.
My room had two large roaches to which the cleaning lady seemed oblivious to and left them there.
Covid Safety- it seems covid does not exist at this hotel, all the drinks at the bar, pool, restaurants are served in these small reusable cups that the waiters collect. I saw the bar tender running the used cups through water, with no soap or scrubbing and started stacking them for other visitors.
They provide covid testing for your return flight to the US, we needed to test on Saturday for our return and the hotel doesn’t offer testing on the weekends to which the manager said don’t worry we will change the dates on the covid form. Which I’m pretty sure is not only illegal but a public health issue.
Food - frozen foods, the menu is limited and food is bland. We only ate their once and just went out to the local restaurants.
They don’t offer bottled water for guests! How in Mexico you don’t offer bottled water for guests is insane.
They have a policy that the “select” restaurants on site need reservations and those reservations can only be made 24hours prior to the date you’d like to dine. I called on Monday and couldn’t get a reservation since they said they’re booked at all the restaurants until friday.
Pool - the pool has calcification all around the perimeter, it’s super sandy and a bit murky.
Bar - the drinks are all watered down.
We tried our best to make a good time out of the place but the place lacks any respect for itself as a brand, the service is horrible. The food is not edible and their practices are risking a lot of peoples lives right now. I highly recommend not going here ever, even the locals will tell you it’s not a good hotel.
