Just returned from Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach, Stayed at the Montego Bay side 5 times but 14 years ago and it has not changed much since then which isn't a bad thing s we really enjoyed staying there 14 years ago.
We were very impressed with the Cornwall side and will be returning there in the near future. Nice and close to the airport
Check in was good, Offered a drink of our choice when we arrived, room wasn't ready as we arrived at around 2:00 which wasn't a big deal, just ventured over to the lobby for a beverage, the front desk people were wonderful and friendly, probably the nicest we have ever had. By 3 we were heading to our room.
We were in room 1406 which is located at the far end from the lobby on the fourth floor, no view of the sunset but nice view of the resort. If you can't do stairs it was not close to the elevator which was over the Lobby. Didn't mind the stairs as it was good exercise for me but next time we go I would like to be nearer the Lobby which is closer to the elevator and coffee Bar, Yummy! iNice room, beds were comfy, 2 queen and 1 twin against the wall with a variety of different pillows, Fridge which wasn't working well but I noticed it was all froze up at the back so I put it in the Shower overnight to defrost, didn't need to bother maintenance for something small like that and next morning plugged it back in and yep thats all it needed. Bathroom was nice and big with a glass walk in shower. Water pressure was great and always had hot water, Supplied was Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Lotion, soap which was all nice. Still use old style key which we like and you get two of them. Definitely lacking dresser drawers, one small one between the beds and one thin one under tv, they built cubby holes in the closet so a few in there. Room had 1 table and 2 chairs , 2 chairs on the balcony, Patio door didi not lock but it looked t
liked they were doing repairs on the rooms when we were leaving. In room safe was in the room. Fore sure the Cornwall side is quieter than the montego bay side.
Wow! Was excellent, tried mostly everything that was on the buffet, lots of Jerk Chicken , not as much fish as before but when it was out it was yummy, plenty of cheeses, fresh fruit, bread, desserts. Breakfast was always good, Bacon one day, french toast and pancakes, omelettes, eggs any way you want.Fried bananas so yummy! Food was definitely better at the Cornwall side
Loved it, delicious open 8am to 9m
Antoinette and Snoop are amazing
Jerk chicken, jerk pork, Chicken Wings,Hamburgers, Hotdogs, fries, salad. Wow! Amazing
Kimeisha was our girl for the week and she made it wonderful, she is fantastic at her job and always remembered what we liked plus the ice cold red stripe
Pool was always clean thx to Fabian who was always working hard but always had time to chat with us, Helped me out with a cut I had on leg and always checked on me to make sure i was taking care of it, thankyou...thankyou. he was very knowledgeable about Jamaica and always smiling. Pool loungers need repairing, material is worn out and all you can feel is the bars from the loungers
Beautiful beach, beautiful water, snorkelling was nice with a variety of fish to see, Loungers is a big pain the butt! Got up at 5 am every morning for a walk and the loungers are all taken by 5 am, apparently people save them the night before by leaving towels on them, Really! Wow! Very frustrating, no chance of getting a lounger on the beach here. Not sure how they fix this problem but i see next door the stack the loungers every night and bring them out when you come down to beach in the morning. A lot more work but at least you get a chance to lay on the beach, this was probably the biggest issue I seen all week. There is definitely more room for more Loungers so maybe another option, Dave did a nice job of cleaning the beach daily
Stacey ann and Carrie were amazing at the bar. always making fantastic drinks, Nahze the entertainment guy was great. MJ did his stretch class every morning at 10 am at the bar. My wife loved his class except when the alpiclub guy was there, totally get that people need and interpreter but not much is needed in a stretch class, he wouldn't stop talking and joking through the class which is not needed,
Nice stuff, not to overpriced if you don't want to leave the resort
Just be Careful when walking around both resorts, always look down when walking, lots of trip hazards, some of the yellow paint on the step up and downs is gone and there is little steps and ramps to trip on

The negatives outnumber the positives at this location.
During our two-week stay, our experience was that of a 2-star budget hotel. Poor management and no staff supervision resulted in many major shortfalls in basic standards and service.
Room ok 5th Floor best sea view. Near to the airport so the transfer was only 10 mins.
At breakfast on many occasions there was NO orange juice. NO bacon. No yogurts. NO clean tables.NO cutlery.
At Dinner and lunch on many occasions, there were NO plates. NO cutlery. NO clean tables. NO ice cream. NO food variety. NO KIDS' MENU.
The Buffet Food would run out and was not replaced immediately so you could
stand around waiting to see if it was on its way or do without.
We were with the TUI rep Karen when we were told clean plates would be 20 mins.
You had to be at the reception at 7 AM to book one of the small A la Carte restaurants. Food is just OK.
You had to be up before 6 AM to get a sun bed as the Cornwall beach is shared with the other hotel and towels were being put out through the night. The number of sun beds did not match that of Customers.
Basic all-inclusive drinks would run out on a regular basis at all times of day and night. NO wine, NO beer. NO tonic. NO gin.
At the Lobby Bar in the main reception, we would be served drinks in single-use plastic cups as there were NO wine/beer glasses.
Staffing levels did not match the demands of customers. Customers became frustrated when queuing at the bar and restaurants.
The staff were unprofessional and appeared to be unhappy.
We have an outstanding Complaint with TUI as do many others due to the issues that resulted in a Disappointing Holiday.
We do NOT recommend this Hotel and will not be back.
