Outstanding Dad and Son experience! Graduation gift for my son!!

OnAir17463288494 on Apr 19, 2024

My son and I were guests at your wonderful resort. This was a gift for his recent college graduation, and our first trip out of our country! We didn't know what to expect, but quickly realized that we definitely made the best of choices staying at Sunset at the Palms. From the minute we arrived, we were in awe of the beautiful surroundings, the attentive staff, the awesome food, ( my son and I love to eat, and the food was not only amazing, but plentiful), and just the overall peacefulness we felt. We were busy non stop, but also had time to enjoy the special events that the hotel provided! We were just blown away by the beauty that is Jamaica, the wonderful culture, and the amazing people that we met, not only the staff, but locals along the way !! When we talked about a possible trip next year and where would we like to go, both of us without hesitation said, back to Jamaica and Sunset at the Palms Resort!!! The resort slogan, ( come as guests, stay as friends, leave as family) definitely applies here. We hated to leave, but can't wait to return !!

If you have a problem with mosquitoes, stay away ..

levons629 (Toronto, Canada) on Apr 19, 2024

The setting is perfect..quite, lots of trees, flowers. Rooms are great rustic but need upgrades, especially the bathroom .. Food is average , and nothing is special to write about. My complaint is we had to call for room cleaning. We stayed for 6 days , 2 days they didn't clean our room ..and it wasn't just our room..

Incredible honeymoon experience

Danielle M on Apr 18, 2024

We spent our honeymoon here and it was incredible. I loved the intimate and personal atmosphere of the resort and the stunning gardens around the grounds are something you can’t get anywhere else. The food was well above what I expected for an all Inclusive resort. My husband and I will be thinking about the beef stew, coconut curry, and key lime tarts for a long time to come. Despite the natural and rustic vibes of the resort, everything was always spotless and the amenities were all modern. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to come back. There was always something to do in the evenings at the resort, if you wanted to participate. We enjoyed listening to the live music in the piano bar and playing the board games available there!

9th Time!

Dunstable (Richmond Hill, Canada) on Apr 16, 2024

This was our 9th time at Sunset at the Palms and won’t be our last! As the hotel no longer offers the Mobay Club, we booked it ourselves. It is the best money spent! As usual we got through customs very quickly, enjoyed a quick bite, changed our clothes and were on our way to SATP. We booked the same for our return trip home. We were met by our driver Harry Harvey (we recommend Harry as your driver to and from SATP) and enjoyed a comfortable ride arriving safely at SATP. Check in was easy including a delicious rum punch and we were quickly shown to our room. We love the cabin type feel of the rooms and soon felt relaxed and at home. The food is always good at SATP but this trip it was especially delicious! Whether the Buffet, Chef’s Showcase or Lotus Leaf, they all served absolutely wonderful meals. Every year we see so many of the usual faces who always greet us with a big smile, a hug and often your name. Throughout the Resort, the service is consistently outstanding and in particular at the Beach: Jovaine (the hardest worker on the beach!) and Captain Kirk who made tasty drinks for us including Jamaican Lemonades and Mellow/Yellows as well as Sherlene who made fabulous Martinis as did Odine at the Martini Bar! Breakfast was always a treat with Collette and Vanessa making sure we get our cappuccinos. Lunch at the beach was special with Vanessa serving us once again - Shrimp Salad was our favourite!. Dinner at the Buffet was fun with Leon and Christina looking after us as well as Michaela at the buffet stations. The Chef’s Showcase was amazing and the ambiance outstanding! Our Return Guest Dinner was on the beach with a beautiful sunset which was a real treat for us as a few times the weather did not permit us to eat by the water. Chef Myre did a wonderful job on our meal with Tamika and Cornelius making sure everything was just right. Special mention goes to Kadian, the Concierge Manager, works behind the scenes to make our stay perfect. She is always so kind and helpful and is a wonderful ambassador for the Resort. For us the resort is perfect. We love the rooms, the beautiful grounds, the food, the service, the ability to eat all your meals outdoors without air conditioning, walking the beach, swimming and even the tree frogs!

Relaxing, wonderful staff.

angela h (Teaneck, New Jersey) on Apr 14, 2024

My husband and I spent seven wonderful days at Sunset at the Palms. We wanted a small laid back resort for a relaxing week, and STP did not disappoint. The room was very comfortable: king-size bed, refrigerator stocked with beer, soda and water. The mosquitoes were a problem for me on the first day, despite using mosquito spray, I had a few bites. The resort "fogs" for mosquitoes every day at 5:30p.m. It's non-toxic, so no worries there. Food at this resort was very good and plentiful. Meal times always included a Jamaican option along with the usual breakfast and dinner fare. Breakfast and dinner were buffets, but you could also make reservations for the a-la-carte restaurant or the Chef's table. Every meal I had was excellent. Lunch could be had at the beach bar or the dining room and there is also a very good coffee bar. We are not pool people, so did not spend any time at the pool. Entertainment: Paul the Piano man was wonderful. He knew how to engage his audience and we enjoyed singing along while he played the piano. Some nights there was a Reggae band, but it was set up like a concert, with the chairs in a semi circle to sit and listen to the band. My one suggestion is to have the band encourage/invite the guests to dance. My husband and I did, but we were the only ones dancing on the night we were there. What sets STP apart from other resorts we have gone to is the staff at STP. Professional; helpful; friendly. I really felt that it was important to them for us to have a good time at the resort. If you like plants, take the gardener's tour. We enjoyed it. Although not required, please tip the wonderful staff. They deserve it. We will definitely go back.
