The most amazing trip to date with Sandals

Words are not adequate to describe this resort and it’s staff. We stayed for 30 days, staying in the rondovals for three weeks then the Italian butler suite for a week. Even though the French village is under construction there never was an significant noise, I would in fact nap every afternoon on the back patio nearest the construction with no disruption. We never wanted for a thing, we had Davion and Lavardo for butlers, they anticipated our needs before we even realized we needed something. We were spoiled beyond spoiled by these two gentlemen, they decorated our patio on our anniversary with flowers, candles and brought the most amazing lobster, shrimp and assortment of salads. They made our day the most memorable anniversary to date. The travel and loyalty team is absolutely beyond compare, Russel and Sakeya went consistently over and above to make our stay enjoyable and entertaining. They always were making sure everything was perfect and we were always taken care off. Multiple other staff such as Javal and his amazing cabana service, KerryAnn and Clayton at the main pool bar would always make sure the drinks were perfect, Jodi Ann in Giuseppe’s actually remembered I like a little port wine after my meal without me asking and not seeing me since January! The amount of people she sees in a year and I walk into the restaurant first night on property and she looks right at me and stated “you like port wine after your meal” Simply amazing! The only other person on property who did that for me was Marlon (supervisor for events) RJ at Jasmines restaurant would remember our meal each night without skipping a beat. There actually was never a staff member who wasn’t fantastic, everyone is extremely professional and so friendly. The GM of the property, Mr O’Brian Heron has to be the most beloved GM, he knows each staff, names, families, who has kids who is new and a firm believer of promoting from within. He not only provides steady strong leadership but proves his work ethic by example. One day a bartender was called away, O’Brian went behind the main pool bar and served drinks without skipping a beat. This man is so busy he uses two cell phones to keep on top of emails and tasks yet stops and drops everything to help a bartender and to ensure guests are provided their drinks and continue to have fun, he leads by example! My husband has multiple food allergies, this resort takes it seriously and he has access to anything he wants and more, they go to extremes to make sure every dish is made to the highest quality along with unbelievable taste. If your worried at all about this resort….don’t! It’s amazing all day long and you won’t be sorry.

They resort is just as beautiful as it was when it opened as Sandals Whitehouse many years ago. Did not get to enjoy the water at the beach because of the sea grass. The reef they take you to was not impressive compared to other places we’ve been. We hired a private boat to take us to better ones which is ridiculous when this trip was not cheap. The other couple that went with us got up early every morning to make sure we all had chairs because the people who had butler service took up most the chairs that we would have liked that were closer to our rooms. On another note, the food was wonderful even though we didn’t get to try every restaurant. 95% of the people were awesome! The following were very sweet and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of: GIUSEPPE’S Italian restaurant Shaneice - love her!! She was our server staff and did an excellent job. Every restaurant needs people like her. Tavia - awesome server also! Janell - she made the best pizzas ever!! BAYSIDE RESTAURANT served breakfast & lunch Kerisha - had the sweetest smile and always hard at work Denardo - made the best omelets always with a smile. Ashani(chop chop) - he was like lightning making sure we had everything we needed. He was very sweet and always smiling. Talita - came by our table steadily to check on us. She was very sweet. Nastacia - went out of her way to make sure my smoothie was the best. JERK SHACK Shannalee - loved this girl. She was also our server at the Sushi restaurant. Awesome person. Need more people like her in this world! ELEANORS Robinson was our server. She was the most professional and sweetest person. She is definitely someone every restaurant needs on their staff. Lisa was also awesome. Very sweet. We had the fastest service here. Awesome food!! WATER SPORTS Ron our captain and Khanrick (Bruno) our snorkel guide were awesome! They made sure we had an awesome time. PHOTO SHOP Lamont, Rogeno, and Richard(supervisor) were very sweet. SCHOONERS AWESOME lobster tails! The hostess at night was very sweet as were everyone else. SUSHI Awesome!! Sherone at the front desk was very professional and sweet. Beautiful smile. Latoya in sales that books your trips was awesome. Jeffroy and Kenron were also there to assist us. Awesome guys! I apologize for anyone I left out. I tried my best to make notes.

Paradise between my ties such a fabulous place nights u will never forget food fabulous nighttime best ever. Skinny dipping in the sea to sipping cocktails at the resort will be again in a heartbrat

Too far from Airport

They try. The property is nice & clean, staff is helpful for the most part. The shuttle ride from the airport takes anywhere from 90 mins to nearly 3 hours depending on the driver & time of day , it’s agonizing. If you deviate from your itinerary the slightest bit they charge you to the extreme for simple things like a shuttle/taxi ride or additional night . Read the fine print carefully , the travel protection you purchase does not get your money back if you need to cancel, change names, or reschedule. The spa is extremely overpriced & they try to upsell. Most guests seem to be well over the age of 50 so it’s a chill vibe. Definitely not for the party type ! I expected to see some type of live entertainment or evening activity but there was none. Some restaurants have inconvenient hours so you have to plan meal time rather than dine anytime. The resort is spread out which requires a ton of walking - even my crocs rubbed blisters on my feet by the end of it. The beaches are well maintained but there is sea grass 3 feet past shoreline. No waves just calm water. It rained everyday for at least an hour during this time of year. Overall it was ok, but there are other all inclusive resorts with more to offer at at a fraction of the price, and more conveniently located.

Beautiful resort with just a few glitches

Unfortunately, our stay started out on an inconvenient note. I had arranged through Sandals for a private driver to and from the airport. The driver however was given the wrong flight number (one which was due to arrive 90 minutes later than ours), so we had to wait until he was contacted and drove 40 minutes to come get us. Kadeesha (sp?) checked us in at the Club reception building. She was amazing. My husband has a spinal cord injury and cannot get up out of a chaise lounge, so she found us a regular chair that we could bring with us every day to the pool. And when she brought us to our room and we noticed the shower was not handicap-accessible, she made a trip to the nurse’s station to get a shower chair for us. Those are perfect examples of her excellent customer service. The resort grounds are absolutely beautiful! Our room was very pretty in a perfect location, close to the restaurants and the pool. However, one day we had no napkins, twice we had no shower mat, then we got a shower mat but no washcloths. There was no umbrella in our closet (it rained every afternoon) and it took two days to get one. Just a few annoyances … We had breakfast every morning at Bayside and loved it! There is so much to choose from and it’s all delicious. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We can’t say enough about Jasmine’s - the food was excellent, the atmosphere welcoming, and RJ the manager just made the entire night perfect. He is so nice and so friendly. It’s because of him that we returned for a second night! We also enjoyed our Italian and French dinners. We spent the majority of our time in the pool! The water temp was just right and the bartenders were great. But two big negatives: One of us had to get up at 6:00 am to reserve chairs with an umbrella. If we waited too long after that, there were no umbrellas available. Getting up at the crack of dawn is not my idea of a vacation. There needs to be some sort of alternate plan. Also, the music at the pool was TOO LOUD!!! We couldn’t even hear each other talk. Similar comments were made by other guests also. All in all, we had a terrific vacation at Sandals South Coast. We have also been to Sandals Negril and are headed to Sandals Dunns River in March 2024. We are dedicated Sandals lovers!!
