My wife and I stayed at CSA in July 2021. We had stayed at CTI in 2014 and took advantage of the trading places day pass and visited CSS during that trip. We fell in love with CSS and thought about staying there but ended up choosing CSA due to the great beach. While we enjoyed our stay at CSA there are definitely a lot of issues that need improvement, one of them not being the beach!
BEACH: The highlight of CSA is that it is situated on Seven Mile Beach. Gorgeous, placid water! The best part of our trip was grabbing the lounge chair cushions that double as a float. We laid in the ocean for hours. The beach vendors got annoying after a while because they would point to you and single you out. Most went away after a simple “No thank you” but 1 or 2 were pretty aggressive and begged for money. Lots of edibles being sold on the beach.
ROOM: We had an Oceanfront Veranda Suite which meant that we had a tv and wood shutters WITH glass windows. I am so glad we didn’t get the rooms with just the shutters because while the tree frogs are peaceful sounding at first, they can get pretty loud. Also, there were some really loud people hanging out on their patio into the wee hours and without glass windows, it would’ve been difficult to get some sleep. Although rustic and no frills, the room had everything we needed but the floors often felt dirty and I was quick to walk around in flip flops anytime my bare feet had to touch the floor. The bed was similar to Fred Flintstone’s-HARD! I got tipped off though that you can ask for a mattress topper which we did after the first night so that made it a little less hard. My wife noticed some really gross dust bunnies in the wood frame that holds the bed which was located right below her pillow which confirmed that the rooms aren’t exactly the cleanest. I’m glad she noticed it on our last night. Lastly the A/C was very good so no worries there.
FOOD: UGH. The downside of our vacation. We noticed it was going to be a problem when we made 4 laps around the buffet for dinner and still found nothing appetizing. On our first trip to Patios we ordered the tenderloin and the waiter let us know that we might want to pick a second choice because everyone was complaining that the meat was tough. We got it anyway and he was right-fatty and tough. Breakfast was good-the omelettes were great and the guys making them were even better. Great attitudes and fun to watch. So pleasant! But dinner and lunch-blah and super repetitive. We found ourselves looking forward to going home so we could get a good meal. Our favorite meal was at Feathers and our waiter Giovanni was our absolute favorite. He went above and beyond and should win a prize for exemplary customer service. We went off property and walked to Margaritaville right down the beach to chow down on some nachos. I recommend doing the pre-breakfast which is ordering food service to come to your room. We did that at 630 every morning and drank coffee and had some croissants and danish on our patio and then went for breakfast when they opened at 730. That was a nice touch!
DRINKS: the drinks were typical of any all-inclusive. The frozen drinks were weak but we remedied that problem by ordering rum to our room, filling a thermos every day and bringing it with us to add to our drinks.
SERVICE: The staff was caring and attentive and were responsive to any of our needs. We only have nice things to say!
In Summary, CSA is a solid all-inclusive resort but could be made into a top notch resort if the food was improved and the food quality and the room was re-designed/re-modeled. After enjoying the beautiful beach all day it would be wonderful to come back to a room with a bit more creature comforts.
Great vacation! So relaxing.

Just got back from a friends trip to CSA on 7/19 after 6 nights at this beautiful resort, Sure it's older but it's got a great laid back vibe about it. We stayed in a beachfront verandah suite on the second floor. Clean with a great view. Although we were only in our room to sleep. I think these rooms are worth every penny. Literally steps away from one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. Absolutely stunning. Sure, I could've done without the vendors but our group of six got used to them pretty quickly and the ladies actually ended up buying some really cool bracelets and carving and Bob the Baker had some good "brownies".
The food was good. The service was adequate. Jamaicans only know one speed. That's just who they are. I broke the "rules" and low-key tipped. I never felt like I had to but spreading a little extra love and respect around goes a long way. The Jamaican people have had it really tough the last couple of years and most are poor anyway. Plus do you know how hard it would be to keep a smile on your face when you make 500 pina colada's a day while listening to some obnoxious couple in Bret Michaels hats get louder and louder as the day goes on? Who thinks "all-inclusive" means I can do whatever I want? No thank you.
Just like you I came here and read all the reviews before going to CSA. Was everything perfect? No, but pretty damn good. Like I said, my wife and I went with two other couples(late forties/early fifties) and had the best time. So relaxing. It's worth coming to this place just to lay on a raft all day in that crystal clear water. The beach alone is worth the price of admission, We definitely felt like we got our money's worth. If you don't enjoy your stay at CSA it's because you're looking for reasons not to.
Can't wait to go back. Now if I could only skip American Airlines and the airports part. HORRIBLE!
Oh, and by the way. I'm in love with their coffee. Jamaica Blue Mountain is dynamite. I'll be drinking that at home.
