Adequate but could have been a lot better.

I’m a Marriott Titanium Elite and stay in dozens of Marriott branded properties every year, including lots of Delta properties. I feel I know what the brand should deliver. I know this place isn’t the Ritz but it’s not a Fairfield Inn either. I’d call this experience “adequate” but it’s the worst Delta experience I’ve had so far. First, let’s talk about this COVID nonsense. Even the hotel’s TripAdvisor profile is still packed full of all this boastful “we’re doing all this stuff to protect you from COVID!” but half their hand sanitizer stations were empty and I didn’t see a single employee over the course of three days doing any public sanitizing whatsoever. So don’t lie to us. You’re not doing anything at all. Second, using COVID as an excuse still for reduced services is crappy while room rates are higher than before. Every other Delta property has their Elite pantry open for guests, why not this one? Another excuse to be cheap on the part of ownership and Marriott lets them get away with it. Yet you’re glad to sell people stuff at the front desk. Ditto for the lack of daily housekeeping. Pay your staff better and you won’t be short on housekeepers. I stay in a hotel because I want a fresh room every day and daily housekeeping is a reasonable expectation without guests piling trash in the hallway. I had three rooms for our group, and two of the three were fine. They were recently redecorated when this property converted from another brand and they were comfortable. One of the rooms had a plumbing problem that couldn’t be fixed, so my family members were moved to another room—with blood on the sheets. Come on Marriott, that’s not acceptable and really calls into question everything about your housekeeping standards. It’s disgusting. How does this happen? Are you not changing sheets between guests? Barely an apology from the front desk. The pool is small and packed with Disneyland folks so the water was cloudy and dodgy and the couple times I wanted a drink in the lobby bar I had to search for the bartender. I finally went to the hotel next door one of the nights. Overall, an adequate stay but hardly special and marked by more shortcomings than I expect at a Marriott property. Come on, you can do better than this and it doesn’t take much to elevate the guest experience.

Lovely 4 night stay

Just spent 4 nights here with the family, two double beds on a high floor and recently renovated room made our stay extremely comfortable Great base to visit Disneyland & Newport, highly recommended and will definitely be back
