Conveniently Located, Pleasant Resort, with Lovely Pool

Myles G (Providence, Rhode Island) on Jul 03, 2022

We enjoyed our stay at the Disney World Caribbean Beach Resort and would return, if we ever wanted to visit Disney World in the future. There are some minor improvements that I would suggest that prevented me from giving it 5 stars. First I'll start with the positives. The grounds are clean, beautiful, and well maintained, and we enjoyed our walks along the canal area walkway behind our hotel building to go to the main hub of the Caribbean Beach Resort. There are a lot of small little lizzards scurrying around, and we saw a few cute wild bunnies too at one point. The proximity to the Skyliner transportation hub made going to Epcot and Hollywood Studios very quick and easy, and the bus availability to Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom was also convenient. We were in the Trinidad area of the resort, which was about a 5-6 walk to the Skyliner which was great. The pool and pool area which was very nice, with ample chairs and chaise lounges and plenty of towels, was a welcome retreat from the heat and a break from visiting the theme park outings which we usually did in the mornings and early afternoon. While there were not a lot of restaurant options in the Caribbean Beach Resort area, the Spyglass Grill was convenient for breakfast and we sometimes walked over to Sebastian's Bistro/Centertown Market area for dinner which had the option of outdoor dining. The Disney app with the ordering ahead option worked well. What could have been better? Here are a few concerns. When we placed our reservations and when we signed in, no one asked us whether we, the adult, older couple wanted to stay in a pirate themed room. The room was dark, had clunky furniture, and had the pirate theme with beds that looked like boats and a curtain with skull and crossbones. If we had young children or grandchildren along, this might have been fun. I suppose we could have tried to switch rooms, but when we arrived there was a thunderstorm, and once we settled in for the night, it was not worth the effort to switch. But that should be a standard question, since I believe there are only a small percentage of rooms that are pirate themed. Despite the pirate theme of the room, the room was comfortable with two double or queen beds. Also when we signed in, there should be standard question about whether we would like a room key card. You can open the room door with your cell phone with the Disney app, but it is not as easy. We had to go back the next day to the main hub of the hotel, a 15 minute walk, to ask for two room key cards. One other thing for consideration. To get to and from the hotel from the airport, you have to hire a cab, Uber, or rent a car. We used Uber which worked out fine, which cost $42 with tip. Some type of shuttle service offered by the Disney resorts, even if it is a few times a day, would be a nice perk of staying at a Disney resort.

Very nice resort

The resort was clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful even though I didn't need anything special. My room was a double full size pirate theme thing. Nice and clean with a very large bathroom. The Skyliner was close, so my travel time to Epcot was about 15 minutes. I will definitely book again was Disney comes back down to reality with prices,

A beautiful resort. Well kept, good facilities and one of the few places I have felt I got exactly what I wanted and what I paid for. The best out of the resorts in my opinion. Pro's Location and travel options Parking - Right outside our room Eating - Spyglass grill is fantastic! Pool area - Great for adults and kids; we enjoyed the slides Con's None!

Loved the people, but not so much the property

Travelmore26 (College Station, Texas) on Jun 18, 2022

The people that work at this resort were absolutely lovely and they really kept the Disney magic alive. The property was a little bit of a let-down though. The room was much smaller than it is made to look on the website, and definitely needs an upgrade. Everything was dingy and clearly older. I honestly felt like we could have stayed at one of the budget resorts and it would have been they same experience. We did absolutely love the Skyliner though, and the Christmas decorations were amazing.
