Beautiful resort that covers it all!!

reg4477 (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) on Jul 02, 2022

Finally got to stay at the Coronado as Its been on my wanting to try list. I wanted to stay in the tower but my budget wouldn’t allow us so I booked a standard room instead. My husband and I along with my 2 boys 13 and 9 loved our cozy room in the Casitas building 5 . Short distance to main pool and not a long walk at all to the food court and Tower. We were also close to the gym and bus stop 2 which is the first stop so the buses were always empty when we got on. Rooms worked well for us as far as space and storage. Bathroom setup probably better for us to as the Tower I’m sure I could work with but definitely is not ideal for mornings getting ready to go to the parks. Room had great coffee to make with the kuerig machine. I see some reviews about not being able to keep room cool enough. We definitely did not have that problem as my husband mentioned many times I kept the room too cold ??. I found this to be the perfect resort to have those rest days as there is so much to do and options for dining. Three bridges is awesome! Definitely a must try. Really enjoyed the beautiful grounds as well which a little walk up to the Tower was very enjoyable!!! Pool definitely a favorite so far for us out of all the Disney resorts we have stayed at. We have stayed at Pop Century, Boardwalk Villas, and Port Orleans Riverside. Coronado is definitely one that we all want to go back to!! Hopefully next summer . Highly recommend this place! For the price I feel it definitely was a solid choice. It was in the high 90’s the whole trip and I never felt the resort was too spread out. We don’t mind walking especially when the view is beautiful as it was.

"Hottest place on Earth"

Justin J (Zanesfield, Ohio, United States) on Jun 29, 2022

If you want AC after a long day at one of the parks, look elsewhere...... 4 calls into service before we had a decent temp. Tstat never got under 70 even though it was over ridden to 65. This was after parts were replaced in our unit at midnight. Were suppose to come back the next day and bleed lines.... never happened was hotter the next night. Fix was to give us box fans at 2 am.... 4th time they finally offered to move rooms but the next day.... we needed the ac during the night since we were at the parks..... No cold water at all. Nice to have a hot shower but was overly hot. The complex is clean and nice. Decent bus stops in the morning, but very few and far between at night being a lower resort, you will see 4-5 buses from the same upper tier resort go by so will wait 20-35 mins between. If the room temp was comfortable no problem staying again but for the price expect working a/c.

Beautiful Property!

We just returned from a 10-day stay here in the Grand Destino Tower, and every day was amazing! The complex is very spread out, so prepare for a walk if you want to explore it all (you can schedule a golf cart ride though). My boys loved the pool/arcade area the most, and the water slide was their favorite part. The club-level amenities are exquisite (definitely worth the cost, since we ate breakfast and dinner here multiple nights), and the staff were very cheerful and accommodating to our requests. They even helped my husband book our lightning lanes for each park day, and pointed out each popular attraction on park maps. The check-in process took longer than we hoped, but it was not awful (on day 1, you are pretty optimistic). The Maya has fantastic food (I recommend the shrimp mojo and chicken enchiladas), as does the Rix Sports Bar and Mercado. The decor at this hotel is gorgeous, and it was a pleasure to stay here. I will find it hard to stay anywhere else in the future.

Theft in the room

mariana_albuq_omm on Jun 26, 2022

Someone entered my room 9267 one day before check out day and stole all the money from a locked bag. I called the manager and filed a report with the police but it looks like the resort is not prepared for this type of incident. There are no cameras in the hallways. Disney did not give me a claim number and was not clear on how they will proceed with the investigation. Money was stolen from my locked room and it was inside a locked bag, not in a public area! Room was a club level. I was upgraded to club level when I arrived and it was offered daily housekeeping for this room type and look what happened. I wish I had never received any upgrades and this would have never happened. Beware with your belongings in Coronado Springs Club Level, it is NOT a magical and safe place. I will spread the word as much as I can so I can let people learn what happened and prevent this from happening to others and I am waiting a reply from Disney and I hope they will colaborate with the police and the investigation.

Had a wonderful stay!

Laura H (Cincinnati, Ohio) on Jun 21, 2022

We just returned from our Disney World vacation, where we stayed at Coronado Springs. We loved it. It is gorgeous! From the grounds, to the buildings, to the rooms - we were so impressed by the attention to detail. The cast members were helpful from beginning to end. We were welcomed warmly at check-in, and the cast member answered all of my questions patiently and thoroughly. Every need or want that we had was taken care of quickly. Some particulars: It is a big resort with multiple buildings. (It also houses a convention center.) If you need a resort where everything is compact, this may not be the place for you. We had a water view room in the Cabana section. It had two very comfortable queen beds, a desk area, lots of storage, big screen TV, and double sinks in the restroom. The shower and toilet were separate from the sink area, which was very helpful when the four of us were getting ready. Our building was not close to the lobby or food court. I did not mind the walk, but others might, especially if you have mobility issues or small children. On the other hand, our building was very close to the main pool and a Disney transportation bus stop. Honestly, I don't think there is a building that is close to everything. Even the new tower is not close to the main pool. (Note: if you want to be in the tower, be sure that you specifically book that accommodation.) There are running/walking paths also. The lobby is now in the main tower, along with a very nice bar area. Great place to take a break or grab a cocktail. The building next to the tower, El Centro, houses more places to sit and take a break or play chess or checkers. There is also a gift shop/store, coffee shop, and the food court. There is also a movie shown every night on the green space outside the tower. The food court (El Centro de Mercado) was awesome. There was a wide variety of items on the menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (Burgers and chicken tenders are always available for the picky eaters.) We visited the food court daily, grabbing from the "grab-and-go" menu on park days, or hitting the food court on the way back from a park to fill our mugs and grab a snack. (Get the nachos!) On rest days, we had a more relaxing breakfast and lunch. The eating area is spacious; we never had trouble finding a seat. We also purchased the refillable mugs and thought they were well worth the money. We ate at one of the restaurants (Rix) and enjoyed it. Good food and great service. The transportation for Coronado Springs is the bus. There are four different bus stops on the resort. One is at the front of the tower, near the lobby, and the rest are spread out in the resort. The buses came regularly and were always on time. Each section of the resort has its own pool, and then there is a main pool that has a kiddie pool, a slide, a snack bar, and activities for families and kids. We went to the main pool to have fun one day, and then the quieter pool in our section to relax and read. The standard for housekeeping (currently) is new towels and trash taken out every other day. Upon check-in, we were told that of we needed more than that, or if we needed those services more often, to just request it. We did on two occasions, and were taken care of quickly and properly. Can't say enough about the friendliness of the housekeeping staff. We very much enjoyed staying here and would most definitely return!
