It’s Average!

jsell2 (Tinton Falls, New Jersey) on Nov 14, 2022

Rooms are nice, had 2 bedroom suite which was spacious. Lights in kitchen and family room are those daylight LEDs which made room look like a nice dorm which was not good. Layout of hotel is weird. There are 3 or 4 separate buildings and each building has its own small parking lot. If you dont get a spot by your building you have to park out front and then you have to walk through lobby, through restaurant around pool to your building. When you have luggage and water etc its not convenient. Not to mention when you are eating in restaurant people are constantly walking through with luggage etc. Pool was nice. Only ate in restaurant for breakfast. It’s nice but staff is not great. Many don’t speak English well so what you ask for is not what you get many times. After a while you just give up. I think out of 7 breakfasts (we purchased breakfast with room) I got what I ordered 3 times. Service is very slow as well. location is convenient for Disney but its a 20 - 25 minute ride up RT 4 to Universal and Sea World. RT 4 always seems to have traffic. I wouldn’t stay here again, I think there are better options.

STAFF /AN EXEMPLARY EMPLOYEE

Vanessa S on Nov 02, 2022

REF : DEOSORAN DHARAMPAL My sister, Jennifer Cooper resided at the Melia Orlando Celebration, September 25 – October 8. Since Jennifer was travelling from Malta specifically for two intense weeks of medical treatment at the nearby ‘ Scoliosis Reduction Center ’ in Celebration, and being a septuagenarian, my husband and I were concerned for her well- being. I telephoned the hotel prior to Jennifer’s arrival and made contact with Deo. He immediately assuaged our concerns, and took a leadership and personal role in Jennifer’s arrival and preparation. He displayed unlimited kindness, assistance and professionalism toward Jennifer continually, despite Hurricane Ian which brought its own issues to the Melia. He simply carried out his word. This is exceptional in today’s world. Deo is without doubt, not only an exemplary employee in the hospitality world but an honest, decent individual, who went out of his way to individualize a guest’s experience. The Melia and the employees that Jennifer met have made the Melia stand out amongst the many hotels available. I am sure you Mr. Baez, and the Melia must be very proud. Thank you. Sincerely, Vanessa & Arthur Sagy ( Sarasota, FL )

Can't say enough

The best place I've ever stayed. The staff is absolutely tremendous. From Check in with Alicia and Duncan, to the Staff of the THE WILSON Brianna, Mike M, Mike D. Karen, Maki, Ricky, Bryan, Lane, and Frank, in fact the Holel staff always has a Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and Good Evening on their lips with smiles on their faces. Room, Pool Area, fanstastic. An Excellent place. A1 in my book.

Needs a lot of improvement

This “resort” class hotel leaves a lot to be desired. We visited in October of 2022, on a weekend. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the sound of construction and the unexpected closure of the restaurant. The rooms were average, outfitted with broken hardware, worn and damaged furniture and very dirty windows. It was hard to enjoy the poolside view as the windows looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. We were extremely surprised that they would class themselves as 4 star. This is barely even a three star. Some other unpleasant surprises included: - a non-existent gym. When you actually inquire about the location of the gym, they disclose to you that it’s about 1 mile away, located at Advent Hospital. There is no actual gym located at the facility, expect for some peloton bikes that you must book in advance. This is not what they advertise online. - the poolside bathroom was in horrid condition- exposed ceilings, trash all over the floor, low lighting. It looked like a nightclub bathroom, after the club had closed down for the night. - blankets and linens that seemed very worn and used - faucets and sinks that functioned weird and wouldn’t turn off completely - very loud AC that cycled frequently throughout the night Overall, an extremely average hotel that we paid way too much for. The only upside was the area- which was very close to restaurants and shops, and the town of Celebration, which is cute. Staff members were also polite. It seems like the Melia brand was not well prepared for this hotel. This is still a work in process, with what feels like borrowed furniture and staff from one of their other hotel chains. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless it was offered at a very steep discount and you needed to be close to the area.
