Disney's Pirate Adventure ($)

Crossing Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon, this pirate cruise treats kids to a reading of "The Legend of Gasparilla"—a real Florida pirate. Donning pirate bandanas, young buccaneers board their seasoned vessel for a spirited pursuit of treasure. Sailing to exotic "ports of call" (Resort marinas), they’ll hear legends of pirates past and discover clues that may just lead to a bountiful treasure chest. At the final port of call, kids split up the pirate booty, as they enjoy a snack (such as goldfish crackers or pretzels) and a drink (such as water or a juice box). Children must be 4 to 12 years of age and potty-trained to join this pirate crew.

The age range below will determine the quantity of children during booking.

Bucket List resort off the list!

DisneyMama85 (Toronto, Canada) on Nov 22, 2022

We stayed at the Grand Floridian from Nov 17-21st 2022. It was our first time staying at the Grand Floridian and a bucket list resort for my family. We are DVC owners at Copper Creek so we stayed on DVC points. We were in a newer DVC villa in the Big Pine Key building. The room - Gorgeous! Loved the decor. Beds were comfortable, pillows were the typical disney pillows that I love. Had two beds + a pull out couch so my daughter was thrilled she got an actual bed!! We were ground floor with lagoon view towards the wedding pavilion which was great but it meant bugs! Our balcony had a ton of bugs and I'd find the odd dead one inside. My downfall for this room was that we didn't have a sink outside the bathroom to wash our reusable cups (like in the other DVC villa studios). Not a big deal, we used the sink in the bathroom. Also we could hear every conversation from next door, even heard their alarm clock in the AM. Location - Amazing. We had the quiet pool right outside the building which was great when we were freezing and running to the room after a hot tub trip on a cold night. It was close to the main building and Gasparilla Island Grill. Couldn't ask for better location. Transportation - Buses came regularly. Shared bus with Poly but it didn't impact us. First time staying on the monorail line for more than a day and we used that to our advantage! Loved having monorail access! Also the walking path to the Magic Kingdom was an amazing plus! We didn't fight the crowds after MVMCP and we were able to walk to the Contemporary DVC lounge. It was about 800m to 1km from our room to MK. Some may find that long but we're a really active family anyway so for us it was preferable to walk. Food - We've eaten at most restaurants here over the years (not the signature dining). It was our first time eating at the quick serve (Gasparilla Island Grill). Food was good, fresh, plenty of seating. It was cold thou, we had to come in our sweaters and jackets. Pool - We used both the main pool and quiet pool. They had games like they do at most resorts and the water slide was good (my daughter and I ranked it number two behind Poly but we've yet so at beach club) One hot tub on property. It was large but it would be nice if there was a second. Good pool bars with food and drink refill station at the main pool. Plenty of seating. Lots of shopping opportunities, beautiful lobby, photo-pass photographers around the grounds. My husband was nervous about feeling out of place at the Grand Floridian because it's not really our vibe (he thought it to be stuffy and only for the rich). He ended up loving it and wants to stay again. I think it became our families favourite disney resort, we were very sad to leave!

Definitely not 5 stars.

Ndauphin (Swansea, Illinois) on Nov 17, 2022

The only positive was the room which was beautiful. Laundry facilities very small plus vending machine for detergent broke. A line of people were waiting for 2 washers and 2 dryers. Staff could not tell me where to get detergent since the machine in that building was broke. They also told me I could use other buildings on property to do laundry but magic band wouldn’t open those buildings..pool was average.. bus transportation was awful. Waited at least 20 mins for Disney springs Hollywood and animal kingdom. And that’s being generous. Usual wait was 30 mins for return. So many better options on Disney property than grand Floridian- wasn’t so grand
