Mixed feelings about this resort. On the whole the resort was great, aesthetically its so cool and adds to the immersive Disney experience. The room, whilst compact, was modern, clean and had brilliant storage. We travelled as a family of 4 with children age 11 and 13 and felt the room was a sufficient size given the lack of time we actually spent in it and as mentioned, lots of well thought out storage for all our stuff. We were told at check in that house keeping would come every other day to replenish towels and empty the bin but they would not make the beds due to covid restrictions which was fine. Whilst they didn’t come until late (4/5pm which was a little annoying) they did come and do as promised. It would’ve been nice to have had the sheets changed at least once but isn’t worth dwelling on. The food court was satisfactory. The options were ok and not too expensive. At times it could be very busy and quite long queues. All the staff we encountered in the food court were friendly, efficient and professional. The pools were clean, towels plentiful and the life guards were very present and aware. The pool side games the entertainment staff ran during the day were fun and my children enjoyed them.
The worst part of this resort in my opinion were the concierge staff. Other than Patty who checked us in and was warm and welcoming, every single member of staff we encountered was absolutely useless. We had a few issues / questions during our stay and not once was the response helpful. After a long flight and transfer to the hotel we were checked in and given our room keys only to find they didn’t work. A near by cleaner let us in to the room and we used the phone in the room to call back to the front desk to advise them our keys didn’t work. They were no help at all. Didn’t know why they didn’t work and couldn’t assist further than “come back and we will give you new ones” . We had just arrived, tired and hungry. With the UK time difference my kids wanted to rest - I did not want to have to go back to reception - I felt like they could have sent someone to us to resolve the issue or give us new keys. It was a very underwhelming start. Other questions we had along the way were greeted with “I don’t know” and we were sent on our way. Another example - I was due to receive a $50 gift card with our park tickets so I asked concierge how I could access that gift card as it only mentioned it on the invoice but was not emailed to me. When I asked at the concierge desk I was told “that’s nothing to do with us, we don’t know”. I used the click to chat option via the My Disney Experience App and was advised you can get it from the resort hotel front desk! It’s just a shame that the staff are so ill trained and do not display a more customer focused attitude. I would return to a Disney resort - just not this one until reviews confirm this area has improved dramatically.
Just one bad experience

It's a shame we encountered a problem as if it wasn't for this they would have got at least four star. One late night after getting back from the Epcot fireworks we could not get into our room! The latch on the other side had managed to go on my itself! (Apparently this happens a lot as they said the cleaners shut the door too hard!?). Now it was the way it was dealt with that is the main issue as when my husband walked all the way to the lobby (we were in the rock inn section) he said two members of staff were extremely rude and dismissive and at first weren't even going to send anyone!! I had to end up asking a lifeguard to ask maintenance! They took 35mins to show up and we have two young children and one was afraid and crying. My husband did get an apology when he went back to complain and they said they would reprimand the two members of staff.
Anyway, that was the only major negative really! Everything else was lovely, and all other members of staff were friendly and helpful. The pool entertainers are lovely with the children and the dining hall staff mostly made a big effort too. The pools are a really nice atmosphere and the rooms are comfortable (could be bigger). The food in the canteen was all very tasty and satisfying, there's not too much for vegetarians but their impossible burger and cheese pizzas are amazing. The hotel facilities are good, we did the toasting marshmallows and movie nights a couple of times and our children liked the pool entertainment. The shuttle buses to the parks were very prompt and the drivers were all lovely and helpful. We would consider a Disney all stars resort again in the future as the children loved it and they do have a lot of benefits I just wish the earlier incident hadn't happened as we did have such a lovely stay apart from this.
