Wait a bit…

Jtx1989 (Fort Worth, Texas) on Jul 30, 2021

We started our stay here on their reopening day, July 19. I’ve been to Disney many times and always wanted to stay here so finally spent the $900/night for theme park view. View was great but this resort simply was not ready to reopen. Here were issues we encountered that they’ll need to work out: -Lobby is far walk from drop off due to construction. They offer zero assistance with getting bags to lobby which is challenge in heat with kids. -Only two people checking in guests/working lobby for large resort. There was always a wait to address the following issues. I would have loved to address with someone on-site but there was always a line of customers in front of me raising similar issues and I finally just gave up. I was friendly to every cast member bc at end of day, the root cause behind these issues were not their faults. -Our room was not ready for check in until about 7:45 pm. When I asked if they could store our bags while waiting for room so we could make our dinner reservation, they said sure but you’ll need to drop off at bell services ALL the way back where we’d just come from (10 total bags with only two people who could move them). No offer to call bell services to help us, just a sad “sorry” smile, I could tell this poor cast member had been saying that all day and sympathized with the ridiculousness. -when we finally got in room I called bell services for an hour as I’d been instructed to do to have bags brought to room. They never answered after repeated calls so we had to AGAIN go pick our bags up ourselves at this time I think it was after 9. - I was later told phone wasn’t working to reach bell services bc IT problems in building we were in (spoiler alert, they hadn’t been resolved by checkout-as you guessed it, we had to AGAIN walk down to bell services to get assistance.) - no wifi in room for first night and then next day for long period of time. Again had to walk all the way back to front desk and wait in line to get help/answers. This is a $900 night room. -I will not address paying full price for hotel without monorail or full housekeeping here bc I was prepared for that as is posted on website. But they mean it when they say housekeeping is limited so just be warned deluxe resorts don’t get any special perk. You’ll be taking your own trash out. Luckily this was split stay so we moved to Wilderness Lodge which reminded me deluxe hotels CAN run smoothly. They had way more staff available for a hotel half the size and reminded me what you pay for at these resorts. But next time, we’ll be going off property, and thinking about cancelling my Disney Wish cruise until they can sort out these service issues. I know they’ll get back but they definitely need a lot more time to justify the prices. I know we’re in pandemic so I appreciate that but I think bottom line this opening was rushed but there was definitely no hint of that on the rack rate pricing.

No housekeeping or water. Save your money!

swkr2be (Saint Cloud, Minnesota) on Jul 29, 2021

So my husband and I knew it was under construction so that is what the 1 star is for. However, we had a few problems while staying there. We paid full rack rate which we have never done before and this was our 4th time attempting to stay here. We had our three kids with us as well. We were told that we would have housekeeping each day, on the second day my husband went to talk to the front desk and he was told "Oh well, here is your towels." He also told them that the sink in the kitchen portion of our unit was not functioning at all. Still got the same response. This was important to us with so many in our room and cleaning up food dishes/etc and our water bottles from the park and it was not useable at all. We also had a major issue at the Quick Service in the resort. We had done mobile order ahead of time and sat 1 hour after our time. While we watched others order at the counter and get it within 10 minutes. We also did an in room survey expressing these issues for the second time during our stay and never heard anything. Very disappointed in such an expensive resort.
