Nice hotel in downtown near all attractions

Stayed here for two nights on short trip to Ottawa. Hotel is very well positioned in downtown near to the parliament and other attractions. Room was excellent - great size and very modern. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Underground car park is useful but very tight getting in / out of so take care. Only disappointment was the breakfast. Although served in a very nice area and by pleasant staff, the choice on offer was poor. Was adequate but does not live up to the standard of other hotel offerings. If in area again would consider using the hotel but may eat breakfast elsewhere.

Worst customer service I’ve ever received at a hotel

The guest service was terrible during my stay - the front desk always seemed annoyed if you stopped to ask them a question. The worst thing is I noticed I forgot a couple items in my room after I checked out and arrived home - but there is no way to contact the hotel - I tried calling about 10 times a day for a week and never got anyone to pick up, I reached out through every social media channel and had no luck there either. I hope your housekeeping staff enjoyed the couple hundred dollars in new clothing I forgot in the closet when I left

I have to be honest, I was happy with the location but disappointed with the service from housekeeping to the breakfast. The breakfasts were the exact same daily other then getting beans. Really beans!!! So they had horrible cereal to runny scrambled eggs to sausages and we cant forget the chiefs special BEANS !!!! We paid to eat toast for our 3 days when we asked if we could have and pay for a piece of cheese we were told no. When we explained it to the front desk we basically got oh well. It was just sad, bc even the hotel bar closed at 10pm. They offer room service but there is room service if you go to the restaurant and order again everything closes at 10. I'm disappointed bc I wanted to stay here and for what we paid I was better off going anywhere in the area because all we liked was the location.

Excellent property & location!

I was super happy with our one week stay at the Homewood Suites Ottawa Downtown. The location is amazing - right at Sparks Street (pedestrian street) and just steps from Wellington (Parliament buildings). Room was spacious, clean and with a dining/living room and full separate bedroom with door (eliminates any noise from hall) and a full kitchen (no oven). No need for a car if you stay here other than you may need to Uber for some groceries.

If You Want to Wake Up to Cold Water Showers —Stay Here!

First morning started with unknown outage of water, wi-fi & tv for 3-4 hours with no explanation and unable to reach front desk for entire time. Once outage resolved, cold water showers was the routine for the entire 5 day stay. On last morning of stay, only 2 of the 3 family members were able to get a cold shower because the water went off again and 3rd person had to wash with what little cold water was left in pipes. Also, every request for supplies or service took repeated calls and a 3-4 hour wait. In addition, there was serious construction on one side of the hotel which is not noted on the hotel site and it was not disclosed upon check-in. Of course, we were placed on that side of the hotel and because we checked in after dark were unaware of this situation until we were awakened to the sound of cranes, hammering, jackhammering and voices in the early morning hours. To top off all this good service, the hotel’s manager response to all of these issues was that it was not the hotels fault and she could not do anything but take off the parking. FREE PARKING — what an original “Throwback”to a customer complaint! As a loyal Hilton Honors member for 25 years, this was totally an inappropriate response/resolution to a disastrous stay. No thoughts on nightly room credits or HH bonus points????
