We were invited to stay here as part of one of their Timeshare presentation deals. Having never seen a Timeshare presentation before, we decided to take them up on their offer. We have been to the resort next door several times, the Golf Resort and Spa, and please note that these Mission Hills Villas are using photos on their website of amenities that are NOT on this property! The restaurants, the Spa, the arcade, the coffee shop and gift shop, are all for the Golf Resort and Spa, which they are NOT affiliated with. It's 100% false advertising. Why would you have photos of amenities that aren't yours?? By the way, if you want to access any of the neighboring resorts amenities, it's not free access. They are completely separate. Feels like we got Catfished. Trip Advisor also shows photos of pools from the other property, so you really don't know what you're getting until you get there.
Additionally, prior to our arrival, I received an email from them asking me if I had any preferences on the room, such as floor preference, view, etc. I asked if it was possible to have a BBQ on our patio, and here was their response (copy and pasted from the exact email): "BBQ's are not on the Patio's for safety reasons", but we get there and see there's literally a BBQ on almost every single patio EXCEPT for ours! I couldn't help but laugh. Why would you lie about that? Maybe our room type, being part of the Timeshare deal didn't have the option for a BBQ, so why not say that instead of flat out lying about it??
Jump to the Timeshare presentation... if you have never been a part of one and are feeling a little nervous about it, you should be. They start off friendly but as soon as you say "no thank you", they treat you like dirt. The lady we had started insulting us as parents (over and over again) and saying things like we are holding our daughter back from seeing the world, and how we aren't allowing her to make good memories with our family. That method of sales is extremely tasteless. Shame on you all for that. To the blonde woman giving our presentation, (I'll respectfully leave your name out) your parenting critiques are unwarranted and inappropriate.
Mission Hills Villas, this experience was unpleasant and highly uncomfortable. Based on the level of false advertising, lies and discomfort, I'll be sure to spread the word and hope someone else reads this review as a warning. In my personal opinion, which I'm sure you don't care to hear, remove all the photos of the Golf Resort and Spa and start sharing photos of what YOU have to offer.
The worst Westin stay ever!
Jun 30, 2022
We arrived the first weekend in June and expected a nice, relaxing stay, with the pool being our primary focus. The resort had full occupancy, largely comprised of a very large group celebrating a specific holiday. The teenaged children were roaming around at all hours of the night, into 3 a.m., disrupting the common areas and would not disperse, even after numerous requests and calls to the front desk. After the 2nd night of disruption and being told by the night staff that they've notified security but were "outnumbered", as if this was a gang of rioters, it was apparent this resort was not prepared to handle security or control of this type of situation.
As owners, we expected more than apologizes and suggestions that we, the guests, call the police to attempt to resolve the disruption.
To compound the horrible experience, the kids snuck in glass bottles into the main pool and broke them in the water, causing them to shatter glass in the pool, which then needed to be drained, cleaned, refilled and chemically balanced before reopening for use 2 days later! All this, in 108 degree weather!
While front staff apologized profusely and offered food credits, my family and I feel strongly that this resort, knowing that this very group comes every year at this time, should have provided this information, providing families an opportunity to choose another resort. When we asked if we could transfer to the adjacent Dessert Willows resort, which was NOT at full capacity, we were denied.
While the accommodations were spacious, the rooms were not as clean as they should have been.
Overall, the stay might have been more enjoyable but for this very large group's disruptive behavior; of greater concern was the lack of control the front staff and the entire "security" team seemed to have over the resort. We will not return to this
